the question i have is when goodluck jonathan wanted to remove subsidy a lot of cabals were against it because it does not favour them, but now why is it that almost every cabal in town supports the removal? definitely they have more to gain by its removal. 1 Like |

It's now I understand what most of the filling stations owners at our bother towns used to do. They bought fuel at subsidized rate here in Nigeria and imported it into the neighbouring countries to sell for a higher rate. In those bother towns there are many filling stations but hardly would you see them dispensing fuel. |

VinnyBaba: With subsidy or no subsidy, Dangote refinery has nothing to lose. Do you even understand how this subsidy work at all? And you don't have evidence that northerners invested in Dangote refinery more than southerners. [b] Every Nigerian is Lining the Pocket of Dangote, anytime he/she buys a litre Fuel of N510. 😔😒You are right. But remember that he's one of over 50 investors who obtained licenses to build privately owned refinery in Nigeria and only one industrialist who was sincere about it. He didn't stop the rest from establishing refineries |

nairalanda1:Subsidy doesn't have to go before Dangote refinery can make profit. He just wouldn't sell to Nigerian market directly, there has to be arrangement between him (Dangote refinery) and FG (NNPC) through which he would be getting whatever FG was going to pay as subsidy. |

treesun: Nigeria customs are so impotent that they cannot stop smuggling of products out of the country but they have energy to impound vehicles, food items etc smuggled into the country. Nigerians are suffering because customs are inefficient and corrupt. 1 Like |

If other countries are benefiting from fuel subsidy, is there no way they will subsidise it only to Nigerians as were the product comes from? Other countries subsidise somethings for their citizens and even make more money from foreigners. Is there no way Nigeria government can come up with a process where by Nigerians can buy it less than what is sold in other countries. Why should we buy fuel at the same price with other countries where we export to. We have it in abundance and nothing is preventing us from getting it at a very cheap rate except corruption. After all, we won't still see where the money gotten from subsidy goes. |

CodeTemplar:Still boils to down to poor governance. Who takes the fuel to neighbouring countries? Isn't it a failure of government officials esp. security agents & the Customs? So sad that even the NLC & TUC are helpless. Who'll help the masses? 1 Like |
