The manager of SEAP Microfinance Bank in Saki, Oke-Ogun area of Oyo State, Sola Ogungbe, has reportedly committed suicide over loan facilities in the state.

PUNCH Metro gathered that the incident happened on Wednesday at his home in Iseyin, Iseyin Local Government Area of the state.

It was also gathered that the victim gave out loan facilities to some of his customers, which they failed to repay back to the company’s account.

An eyewitness said, “The victim’s wife was called by a staff member of the company because the deceased had not been reporting at his workplace over the loan default crisis.

“But unfortunately, when she got home to report the call to her husband, she met his corpse on the floor.”

One of the deceased’s friends, who did not want his name in print, told our correspondent that “Sola made a mistake by taking his life, as he was supposed to have discussed his problem with his friends.

“The issue of suicide is becoming alarming. He made a great mistake by taking his own life because of debt. If he had shared this issue with his friends, maybe somebody would have come to his aid.

“Everyone is going through one thing or another, but our survival is anchored upon communal living and friendship. Tell people about your issues, you don’t even know who can help you,” he stated.

The body of the deceased has been taken to his hometown in Omu-Aran, Kwara State for burial.

As of press time, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Adewale Osifeso, could not be reached for a reaction as calls and messages put to his phone were unanswered.

Sad sad end.

Too many people are just one more frustrating event away from a total mental breakdown.

If you are currently going through hard times please stay hopeful. With the right level optimism and a steady grinding and hustling, you’ll breakthrough. Yes, you can see your mates and sometimes younger ones doing better, know this and know peace; there are many people who had their breakthroughs in their forties and fifties.

Get up, go out. If you have to do menial jobs, do it. You’ll earn money to feed and sort some bills. People wey you dey fear say dem go judge you no care as you dey hunger and frustrate so why care about them as you dey hustle to push yourself in life.

Stay strong brother, stay positive sister. This shall pass. Believe and push harder, it surely will.

You can imagine how the customers that took the loan from him and refuses to pay will be feeling

Nigerians are really hard to serve. Many have a bad mentality towards loan repayments while many others collect loans for the wrong expenditure where they won’t be able to pay their loans back. It’s so unfortunate. On the one hand, these loan officers have targets to find customers to disburse these loans to. On the other hand, they have the fiduciary responsibility to the shareholders and board of directors to recover these debts with maximum profits. In a clime like ours, it’s almost a loss-loss situation for these officers. It’s just really a sad reality.

I first saw this news in punch few hours ago.
It's sad honestly.

If you know you don't have the heart for some type of business/employment, abeg no shook head put o. I understand there's unemployment in the land, but I can't work under some kind of pressure.

But we'll never know why he really killed himself though, as dead men tell no tales.

RIP to him. May God comfort his family.
