Nigeria my motherland,

your diversity i"ve not found.

A land of many rivers with oceans bay

And pastures stretched afar off

like Elfland's green.



Many a mile your coastland span

From Marina to Ijebu a torrent shore

Your hills so rich in mineral ore

I was born a native i know it all.



Nigeria my country i salute you

With wings spread like a kite

I'm proud, noble with a maiden smile.

Alas! at 51 you are but a child

still feeding, living on foreign coin

in exchange for oil your only point.



With potentials at Oxbourne's fate

untapped resources at abandoned state

and corrupt leaders at our fortune's wheel

we wallow,toil amidst much yield

Hungry, deprived the southerner's plight

Who will serve our land? The people cry.



Oh! my country when shall you grow?

when ethnic divide is your constant woe

Religious pandemonium like mushroom spill

Today in the north and tomorrow in the south

Yet in our song, UNITY IS STRENGTH.



Today i wish you the best i could

Let your people love you still

With good words, deeds and trust.

prejudice, corruption let us kill
