This report may not be true in terms of saving of physical cash. Since we’ve been borrowing to pay for subsidy since January, I really don’t think we should call this savings because the money is not there. We’ve simply stopped spending N400b on subsidy.

Was that not how Buhari said he saved money but still went to borrowing spree

Can u really trust APC

What sacrifice had the ruling class made since this subsidy regime ended

It should be stated in clear terms what the money saved from subsidy removal would be used for. So the thieving politicians don't end up looting this monies.

More money to loot. If tinibu does not perform 3 times better then no need for subsidy removal

The term "save" used in this context can be misleading. How does one "save" money that was never in existence?

The accurate statement is: "Nigerians contributed N400bn as subsidy payment for petrol."

Subsidy was not removed; instead, the federal government ceased borrowing to subsidise fuel. Nigerians are still responsible for subsidising it. The burden of subsidy payments was simply transferred to the poor masses.

They didn't save any N400Billion, rather they didn't borrow N400 Billion because we were borrowing to pay subsidies.
