Subsidy Removal Affecting Me... Please Help by KingOroro1(m): 11:50am On Jul 05, 2023 |
Since the removal of fuel subsidy I have been suffering because the kind of work I do warant me to buy fuel for easy operation as PHCN is not reliable. I have a little space where I operate gaming. I have two ps3s via loan which I use to make little money to fend for myself to keep soul and body together. Since the removal of fuel subsidy it has not been easy because of the high cost of fuel and low turnout of customers because I had to increase the price to meet up with the high cost of fuel. One of the PS3 was giving me problems, with redlight of death which is not possible to repair. So I was managing the other one when suddenly last week it started developing the redlight of death as well. Now I am on a crossroads because I have taken it for repair but the repairer says that the game console is dead just like the other one and that there is nothing to do about it except to get a new one. Ever since I have been depressed, doing nothing with no way to fend for myself, I have been managing the little I was making due to the fuel increment but now I can't do anything plus hunger. It has been the Lord substaining me ever since to be honest, plus I still need to pay the loan I used to acquire the games. Please I need your help, if I can pay the loan, luckily for me it is remaining this month own, I will be very grateful. As it has been giving me sleepless nights plus this people are very mean. Please nothing is too small. 1 Like |

Sell the two televisions you're connecting to the gaming consoles. Use the proceeds to buy two clippers and a few items needed for a hair saloon. Since you already have a space, a generator and chairs, that should ease expenses on you. Find a good barber within your vicinity and attach to him. Spend the next 3 months under his tutelage and learn the skill diligently. When you reckon you're good enough, move to your own space and pick up from there. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Buddha3:Thanks sir, I really appreciate your help, though I already sold one of the televisions when the first console dies. I was thinking along the line of acquiring the skill of barbing to complement the games before this other one died also. My main concern now is the pay the last debt I owe those lapo people so I can think clearly. It really pains me as I had to sell the first tevelision for as little as 12k due to the hardship to pay last month loan. All the same thank you sir 1 Like |

KingOroro1: Given the prevalent economic circumstances which are negatively impacting on almost all citizens, it is wise to make definite adjustments where needed. You're officially out of the gaming business for now. Apart from your generator and chairs, find a way to sell off every other thing that's of value in that shop, so you can offset your outstanding loan from the proceeds. But before you do, make sure to find a barber who's ready to accommodate you while you learn. If there's one thing I know, once you're able to hold a clipper under that barber, you can start making small monies by taking on a few haircuts in his shop. Whatever you have left from your property sales, put that into your basic needs for now, like feeding, airtime, etc. Within the next 2 to 3 months, if you're serious with what you do, you should be able to afford a clipper while in that shop. Just make a move. Because as far as I'm concerned, there's no nairalander at this point who'll give you financial assistance, not even me. So you have to make a move. |

Putting myself in your shoes, if I had no job.. I'll think about what value can I bring to others. What do you know that some don't ..,.. can you teach it. While teaching work on yourself and Improve. Accuqire skills that are on high demand. You can learn almost anything online. Even your PS3 with red light of death can be fixed with the right knowledge . https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ATzRl4DTsI |

blackmantis:Thank you sir...I have resolved to going back to something I stop years ago... Which is car washing, though I never did it in my state before. So it's kinda embarrassing for me but there is dignity in labour. At least it better than stealing or begging. Like someone suggested, I will try to save some money to get at least a clipper and acquire the skill of barbing. All in all I believe God will see me through. I thank you all for your encouragement and advise. God bless you sir. |
