We all know that all over the world, the position of defense and security appointments are a hotcake. When the southerners keep on showing the north that they are the only ones qualified to handle security/defence matter, do they have the right to turn around and accuse the north of playing kingmaker?

If you also check who the defence ministers are during these administrations, they are also northerners. And instead of them to reciprocate the gesture during their own time, they trample on that and bring their fellow brothers to run the show.

The southerners are enslaving themselves, even without the input of the northerners. They have no blame.

I think in the background of endorsements for candidates and competition to be President, Northerners negotiate certain positions in return for support and votes. Positions that are critical for their survival in the contract for nationhood.

Of what concern at this point in time, is the office of the NSA to hungry Nigerians. Tinubu came into power and the fuel price is on its way to N700 per litre, the exchange rate is has been N1,008 to £1, inflation in all sectors of the economy. The Electricity tariffs are sure to spike sooner. Hunger prevails with some people literally begging to eat. What concerns such people with who becomes the NSA.

It's nice to see somebody seeing through the same lens. Who says it's only the north who can produce the positions of defense minister and NSA at the same time? These are almost the most plum political appointments — they give it to themselves when they are in power and southerners also give it to them when they the southerners are in power.

Lost argument?? There is nothing lost. The NSA isn't the highest office in the land. Whoever is appointed is done so by the prerogative of the president, who can appoint or fire at will. So basically, this NSA (a Northerner) is answerable to the president who is a Southerner and is someone who has the trust of the President.

The President uses his discretion as it pleases him. If the constitution of Nigeria had imposed Northerners as the NSA, it would have been an entirely different reaction from Southerner.

This thread is tantamount to crying wolf where there is none.

A more important discuss would have been the situation we now find ourselves, whereby the Presidency is rotated between South and North, only Muslims are considered good enough to be president of Nigeria.
