It is on record that in the late 1960s and early 1970s, the price of a litre of fuel was between 6k and 9k. Between that time and now, petrol price in Nigeria has increased tremendously. Here is a brief history of petrol prices in Nigeria;

Gowon – from 6k to 8.45k
Murtala Murtala – from 8.45k to 9k
Obasanjo – from 9k to 15.3k

Babangida – from 20k to 39.5k
Babangida – from 39.5k to 42k
Babangida – from 42k to 60k (Private Vehicles)
Babangida – from 60k to 70k
Shonekan – from 70k to N5 (Naira)
Abacha – from N5 to N3.25k (Price drops)
Abacha – from N3.25k to N15
Abacha – from N15 to N11 (Price drops)
Abubakar – from N11 to N25
Abubakar – from N25 to N20 (Price drops)
Obasanjo – from N20 to N30
Obasanjo – from N30 to N22 (Price drops)
Obasanjo – from N22 to N26
Obasanjo – from N26 to N42
Obasanjo – from N42 to N50

Jonathan – (New year present) N141
Jonathan – (After labor strike) N97
Jonathan – (As Feb, 2015 Election approaches) N87

APC Government has proven to be experts in negativity and anti-people Government. I pity for those beating drums of praises for the set of fraudulent people who smuggled themselves into the seat of power. Don't ask for my assistance if you are supporting the present crops of manipulators assuming leadership positions in this country.

The price of petrol wasn't up to #200 when Tinubu came in. He just removed the subsidy and the price rose to over #500 without palliatives.

Guess what, nobody protested because the people believe they never voted for him. Given his influence and wealth, he gamed the weak system and made himself the president.

Well the whole world is evolving and developing.... Here we can't buy fuel of 500 but when we gather money and travel out, we will go and buy it for almost $1.50 abroad.......
It's biting I know, but we shouldn't act as of only fuel went up....
So OP, if you are comparing price of fuel, also bring history of prices of Cement, bread, pure water and others ...

No government is better, none is also bad...
