Nigeria may not be rich, but if we had good managers of resources, we would have had a much better country. 4 Likes 1 Share |

Government collecting taxes to provide enabling environment for business to thrive is not a bad idea. But with clearly set visions it wouldn't cause further inflation. Since you don't have plans on how to recycle the money back to the economy yet or the know how on providing enabling environment, reducing the amount of taxes people pay will help a long way. Let the people breath Don't tax the people for sycophants to steal 1 Like |

Why not "disburse" the Dollar components to the 3 tiers of governments which can then be exchanged at the forex market. They don't to physical have the cash. 1 Like |

So the way to fight inflation is to withhold money earned by the government then you go ahead to print more money to inject into the economy - which of these two will most likely cause inflation? 1 Like |

Kukutenla: Yes o! It's a wise move. There's a justification it can turn inflationary. The dollar component should be disbursed in "dollars" to each tier of government. This they can now resell at the CBN forex market in exchange for Naira. This has long been a suggestion by the late Henry Boyo. Soludo had the same idea but was frustrated by federal government. This will lead to dollar chasing Naira and the currency will strengthen. . But nowadays, the dollar component is first changed into Naira leading to excess money in circilation, like what is feared now. 3 Likes |

It’s not the hugest in true value Dollar from oil sales always just convert from 430 to 740 naira Very poor economics. Pay the states is dollars generated from sales that will actually help increase the value of the naira 1 Like |

Kukutenla: It is a good idea that they did not share the entire accruals for the month. The excess fund should be channeled to infrastructural development that will add value to the economy and entice investors - Nigerians in diaspora and other meaningful investors to invest in the economy thereby creating growth and renewal of the economy. Jumbo salaries and emoluments by elected office holders should be avoided at this time, everybody should sacrifice to lift this nation - Nigeria out of poverty and economic woes. A rich nation like Nigeria should have gone far in development if our past leaders have been honest with economic, social and political development of the country. God bless us. God bless Nigeria. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Depriest2020: A very good beginning, for seeing realities that ,it can't be business as usual! Now,the Governors are being considerate that we need to get Nigeria started all over again because there is no more free launch - not even in FreeTown, Sierra Leone! It's now left for National Assembly to reduce their own Cost too- for the Masses! Kudos again to NEC👍. No other Countries will fix Nigeria for us,but through- Accountability, Incorruptible decisions,Patriotism and Purposeful Leadership, Nigeria will be great again! God bless Nigeria. 4 Likes 2 Shares |
