Generator sales in London is Zero.

Because Londoners pay the market price for electricity, and have electricity 24.7, while power companies can increase their tarrifs when they want.

Unlike in Nigeria where at one time we were paying N20-30 for something that was at the time costing N54 to make...a kwh of power.

They were living off our woes before until God used Asiwaju Tinubu to cut them to size.

It's interesting to note how just a single policy is wiping off rent seekers. From generator merchants to shylock petrol marketers to those who never pray our public electricity supply will improve, they all like pii!

This is a lesson to anyone still in rent seeking business, the policy that will force you to innovate or die is just few seconds away.

They expect even our yet unborn generations to live with the obscene annoying sound and environmental pollution of generators abi.smh

People that came to solve a problem that was not caused by them were living of your woes? Interesting analysis.

When reports come out that car sales have dropped because of the fuel price hike, will you say car dealers are/were living off our woes.?

I agree with you generally on rent seeking and the need to innovate though. And I also hate the noise of generators with a passion.

I dont think that taiwo (my barber) and olaniyi (a welder friend) will share your myopic uptimism since the power generating companies are as epileptic as ever,...hardly the fault of the generator importer and sellers.

Always talking like a deranged imbecîle.
You call solution providers people living off the woes of Nigerians because you want to support a failure and at same time attack you perpetual enemies. So it was the presence of gen sets that made power supply poor all these years or that made customers unable to afford petrol?

Useless thing.

God Help Us All from APC Poor Planing.

But wait o. How will a reasonable person calm down and write this. they need to check some of na o

F9!!

It is because UK produces enough electricity.

Because they allow their electricity companies free reign to set their prices, and to make huge profits, which means they can fund large scale electricity generation projects (including the ongoing large nuclear power station being built in the South of England)

Nigeria? We had NEPA, which was forced to sell power at cheap prices, and as such never made a profit, plus politicans and army leaders were hooking up villages and towns to the grid left , right, center and front with no thought for whether the grid could carry the load (that is why the grid is always collapsing) and when the government finally privatised the thing and broke it up into discos, gencos, and tcn, they made the discos charge cheap prices which did not let them make a profit (at least 3-4 of the discos are out of business, including one that threw up its hands and ran for its life).....and thus we cannot generate enough power.

Then there is the organised racket called estimated billing, stealing of power (done by rich, poor and middle class people) and corruption and mess.

All in all, the power secotr makes a loss, and the useless subsidy (2trn last year) means the sector cannot pay for itself and new generation and so forth

By the way we need at least 900 trn naira to get 24 hour power supply...as at 2016, according to a study group. Ya think we can raise the money?

Very dumb and narrow-minded view...

What happens to the small businesses which this unplanned and knee-jerk policy will destroy?

As you spread senseless propaganda, do you notice the dip in the power generation since Tinubu emilokanned his way to power?

A single haircut is going to hit N1,500 soon...

I worked with an automated gas plant in this country. Heard of the dual carburettor in 2009 from my boss. We used a gas powered 30kva generator then.
