Nigerians to stop use of generators soon–FG 69 October 8, 2011 News Abuja –

Vice-President Namadi Sambo has assured Nigerians that the use of generators
will soon become history in view of  the huge  investment of government  in the
power sector.

Sambo gave the  assurance when members of  the board and management of the Academy for Entrepreneurial Studies (AES) paid him a courtesy visit  at the State House in Abuja. He said  adequate measures had been put in place by the Federal Government to ensure adequate power generation, transmission and distribution, noting that

Nigerians had started witnessing improved electricity supply across the country. Sambo said only competent and reputable companies would be allowed to handle the nation’s  power sector to ensure efficient and effective electricity supply.

“ I want to assure you that we are doing everything to see that by the end of the day,
the power sector is handed over to competent, experienced companies that would
able to meet our objectives of ensuring that we have adequate power in this country.

“We have good management of our power system, and that this issue of generators
will be history. “In this regard, we are doing everything to encourage the private sector.

“ In fact, for  any private sector operator today that is ready to invest in the power
sector, we  will provide securitisation for the investment,’’ he said.

The vice president also said the Federal Government was doing all it could to address
all security challenges to boost socio-economic activities in the country. He said the Federal Government would also look into the possibility of  partnering with
state governments in ensuring surveillance to enhance security of  lives and properties
in the country. According to him, government is also looking into the  provision of  decent accommodation for  officers and men of the Nigeria Police as part of  efforts to boost their morale.

In his remarks, the President of  AES, Dr Ausbeth Ajagu, said  the fundamental ideology
behind the establishment of the academy was that Nigerians  had no reason to remain
poor given the rich endowments of the nation. He called on the Federal Government to conclude the sale of  PHCN to competent,
technical and financially viable companies to ensure stable supply of electricity. Ajagu also urged the government to outlaw the use of generators in all PHCN offices
nationwide as a means of cutting down corruption and making the sector work. He further stressed the need for the introduction of community policing  as well as
increment in  manpower and operational capacity of the various security agencies.

a generator is what produces the power you use in London. Without power generators there will be no electricity. And as you know(which I doubt since you don't know what a generator is) most of our modern day devices such as electronics and the computer or phone you used to ask this question run on electricity. In Nigeria, instead of having a central generator in the power plants that generates electricity for everyone, the roles are reserved and virtually everyone has a generator at home and generate their own electricity, that way they don't have to rely on anyone and control when they have electricity.(it's kinda flexible but more expensive, we are richer than Londoners that's why we chose this option) I hope that answers your question? if it doesn't you can use google or wikipedia. ciao. wink

WELL I STILL BELIEVE IN THIS COUNTRY AND I BELIEVE GEJ CAN DELIVER,
WITH WHAT AM SEEING IN THE POWER SECTOR TODAY I HAVE NO DOUBT THAT GEJ CAN FIX IT, I WAS IN MY VILLAGE LAST MONTH, LOW AND BEHOLD I ENJOYED UNINTERRUPTED POWER SUPPLY FOR 7 GOOD DAYS, WHILE IN ENUGU THE STORY IS THE SAME, IN THE AREA I VISITED THEY ENJOY AT LEAST 18 HOURS OF ELECTRICITY DAILY. FROM PEOPLE THAT I HAVE SPOKEN TO IN LAGOS, ABUJA, BENIN ETC THEY HAVE CONFIRMED THERE IS IMPROVEMENT IN ELECTRICITY IN THEIR AREA,

I BELIEVE BATH NNAJI IS ABOUT DOING WHAT SOLUDO DID TO THE BANKING SECTOR. KUDOS TO BOTH GEJ AND NNAJI

Thank you.

WHat is the difference between a generator and a v/i/b/r/a/t/o/r? My sugar mummy and my escort told me that their v/i/b//r/a/t/o/r/s can generate a lot of power? Is is the same power that you "is" talking about?

Sambo is a bigot, he is probably right because after the planned fuel subsidy removal fuel will be too expensive for us to buy hence we may all stop using generators.May Boko Haram find him and his family soon.

We are not talking about London here. In the US, don't they have steady light. In China, they have steady light. These our generators make noise, sometimes they don't carry all the load, such as I better pass my neighbour. In other countries, the rich and the poor have constant light, we're not even talking of ghana our neighbour.
