Do you want Nigeria to colonise them in this 21st century?

The problem ECOWAS will encounter is a lack of public support from Niger Republic civilians.

Their military leaders are free to take off their uniforms and contest for election if they are sure of their popularity.

That ECOWAS thing is a huge distraction to Nigeria. They knowingly gave it to Tinubu because of Nigeria's money in funding it

I wouldn’t be so sure, when nothing has worked properly in Nigeria in the past eight years. Especially our security forces that are too busy with petty internal politics to work in synchronization. Better to err on the side of caution and 'glass handle' the situation with care, than to foolishly rush headlong into a fight of indeterminate outcome because of a fragile ego. cool

Nigeria's Military Will Teach Burkina Faso, Mali, Niger The Lesson Of Their Lives - Fani-Kayode

Former Minister of Aviation and chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Femi Fani-Kayode on Tuesday said Nigeria will teach the military forces of Niger, Mali and Burkina Faso a bitter lesson if they make any further threat.

In a post on his Facebook page, Fani-Kayode wrote "The military Governments of Mali and Burkina Faso have said that "any attack on Niger Republic by ECOWAS will be regarded as an act of war".

"This is a pitiful and nonsensical threat from two pitiful and nonsensical unelected Governments headed by tin pot military dictators".

"The biggest mistake that the mutinous rebels and military usurpers of Burkina Faso, Mali, Niger and their allies can ever make is to underestimate the fighting force and indomitable spirit of the Nigerian military and the sense of solidarity that we as a people kindle, muster and cultivate when confronted in the field of battle by a foreign foe".

"We may have challenges and issues in our country but when at war against foreign armies on foreign soil we have NEVER been overwhelmed or defeated. History proves that.

We are slow to anger but irrestiable in battle and if the Burkinabe, Malian or the Nigerien Army test our will we shall bring them to their knees and teach them the lesson of their lives.

Threatening great Nigeria with war is no small matter and, if carried out, will prove costly for them.

Simply put we would crush them like maggots under our feet and send them back to the stone ages where they belong.

How did this man become a minister of aviation? Talk is cheap! It's easy to come on social media and write NONSENSE because you won't go to Niger to fight the junta. War must be avoided at all cost.

Someone suggested that Tinubu should use diplomatic means to settle the matter by sending Buhari. Buhari is close to Niger Rep. I think it's a brilliant idea.

If Nigeria must use military intervention, which I am totally against, there must be consensus among more than 2/3 of ECOWAS member states and they must be willing to deploy their military as part of ECOMOG mission in Niger.
Hmmn....ECOMOG mission ... Hmmmn... The war will be brutal and long. This isnt just a small sierra leone or liberia crisis. This is the coalition of 4 ready countries military force (Niger, Burkinafaso, Mali, Guinea), and possibly others could join dem against ECOWAS, not to mention the Russian allies. Of course ECOWAS will have foreign allies too, and I am not sure some other west african countries will put head .e.g Ghana, Togo,Benin etc.

Guy, most of west africa will be in flames (not necessary to touch us down south here in Nigeria), but be rest assured that things like inflation and chronic famine is sure! This wont be like europe that other rich and average well planned countries have provisions for refugees. We all know Africa is already impoverished by foreign powers and greedy leaders.
Nigeria the big brother wey rich sef get high percent of people living in poverty wey dey scavenge for foods for this harsh economy grin grin

It's very funny. I am not a Tinubu fan but those glamouring for military rule are senseless and foolish. Nigeria is going the way of Venezuela and all the youths know about it's country is to demand for military rule?? Do you people even read or you follow the trend on social media Read history. All Nigeria needs right now is to revitalize oil sector and diversify just like Norway and Saudi Arabia. Else we're doomed for ever. Whether civilian or military rule. In fact Africans needs to start producing and stop consuming! That's our basic problems not the West or China. They just took advantage of our weaknesses!
Talk is cheap... You talking about history and you neglected the one that formed this artificial contraption that is called Nigeria. You wanna diversify like Norway and Saudi Arabia. It's good but are the foundations of those countries the same with what we have here?

Are Norwegians so different within? Or the Arabians?

Look! No matter how small a piece of puzzle is, whether faraway or near, it must find a way to fit in to be whole. This small puzzle will most times disturb,, uproot and reassemble some others before fitting into its space.

If you think what the whites did by merging the old protectorates due to greed, displacing tribal and territorial boundaries, creating a pseudo Nigeria is a minor issue, then you still haven't understood the roots of the problem facing the country.

Ordinarily in our personal spaces, do you think it's easy to live with another person: roommates, friends, Co tenants face me face you, even wife everytime in peace?

You now think a peaceful coexistence will be in Nigeria, no way! The multi ethnic factor is just a monster that gave birth to so many other vices. As some are pushing it up (such as your diversification) others are dragging it down.... And like play, we remain stagnant for a long time.

If Nigeria citizens want peace especially in the south. Divide Nigeria and create new countries, period!

When there's peace and improved agreement, then you can talk about development. Two can't walk together without agreement, not to talk of more than 250 hard headed groups.

Problem solvers face reality!

You're talking rubbish.

If Nigeria is as disunited as you say and we all hate each other, how come 11 million Igbos are living peacefully in the north?

10 million in the west?

Why are we not all fighting and slaughtering each other on the multi-ethnic streets of Abuja and Lagos?

By the way, you shortsighted man, if we ''divide the country'' who takes Abuja, the nation's capital?

A city that has seen billions of dollars in infrastructural development over the last 35 years?

Have you been to and been around Abuja?

Do you know it is among the best cities in Africa?

So who takes Abuja?

And of course those who are from other ethnic groups will have to leave and return to their 'new country' where it would take them another 30 years to build their own 'Abuja', having become suddenly FOREIGNERS in their former capital city, and liable to be harassed for their papers or even visa by police!

Lagos suddenly will turn a 'foreign' land for millions of residents there, not originally from the 'new country' Lagos is now part of.

If the experience of Nigerian traders in Ghana is anything to go by, being FOREIGN in West Africa is a really big deal. The hosts will let you KNOW you are foreign. It will not be business as usual.

So much for all those new-turned 'foreigners' with houses and businesses in Lagos.

I mean, the idea of breaking up Nigeria sounds debatable on paper until you actually sit down and THINK about it.

Then you realise just how stupid and impossible an idea it is.

Tinubu is at the fore front of threatening Niger out of fear and not patriotism.

Coup in Mali was a success, Burkina Faso a success and now neighboring Niger, who knows which West African country will be next?

I pray it's Nigeria for a thousand and one reasons.
