The money they are going to give you is going to come from you ... Why do you think everything is so damn difficult in Nigeria? Very soon it will become as good as it was during buhari and guess what... We will all praise and rejoice for the goodness our leaders have done.

This group called resident doctors or whatever are one of the major problems we have in Nigeria go to any general hospital or government owned hospital you will realise that this people are jokes. They don't work or like to work just because they feel that their colleagues in foreign countries are better paid than them. Infact most of the doctors have their own private hospitals where they work better and attend to patients. They even direct patient from the general hospital to go there. I think it's high time the federal government privatise the health sector completely because their lackadaisical attitude towards work is at the highest level our health sector needs to be totally revipe and they always have excuses all the time.

You will eventually give them what they demand...!

The only problem is that once you increase their pay, their counterparts, JOHESU (Other health workers) will embark on their own strike seeking their own share or increment.

Then the cycle continues...!

This same no work no pay that only ends up making matters worse. The Feds should come up with something soothing for the resident doctors.

Over 80 percent of Nigerian citizens can't afford private care... Infact, many of them can't even afford government hospitals as it stands.

Privatizing the entire health sector is simply removing basic healthcare from the reach of most citizens of the nation... The mortality rate will be historic.

Corruption has brought your nation to this point. Targeting the masses for hardship to pay for the sins of political leaders will be the last straw that will send this nation into Anarchy.

At this point, hard decisions must be made by elected leaders... They must shelve all current and future plans to steal and loot. All expenses must be strictly for the elevation of the masses.

Corruption has to be tackled and cuffed in every sector... The nation must start exporting and producing for itself. Money must be saved and put into good use for the masses...!

Anything short of this, then Nnamdi Kanu's prophecy about the massive break up of this nation will be inevitable.

Exactly, they are striking because of a doctor that died in an elevator that is already being investigated. Strike that will make patients die, for me it's a self-centered strike.

It's a good policy. Strike as long as you want to get what you want but don't expect to get paid for the months you were not at work

How is that harsh? No one is sacking you or sending you to prison for exercising your right to strike

But it is wrong to expect salary for work not done

Simple

See as ASUU just quiet no fit do Gragra again.
It is sure they will never embark on strike in 4yrs cos the No work No pay thing don teach them lesson small.

You are a fool.

You think those doctors don't have private establishments where they're working. Until you fall sick and go to those private hospitals to save your life na when you will understand that this strike us directly to your own detriment.

I say again, you are a fool.

Nobody will die if ASUU decides to go on strike for
10 years. Tertiary education isn't a necessity, so any irresponsible government can choose to ignore ASUU on strike.

But you see doctors, even an irresponsible government would think twice about ignoring the doctors should they go on strike for at least one month.

Well supported. Turn their useless hospitals into graveyards. Lock it up completely.

When these asshole citizens come to private hospital to save their useless lives they will prefer to just die throway than to pay the huge medical bills.

Strike supported. Let us see who go tire last.

Useless country.

Re dese guys d only employees of d FG? dey strike pass ASUU sef
No they are not. But they work the longest hours than other employees of the FG. They use and work with far more equipment than other FG employees. Yet, they are the most overworked FG employees because they are few compared to the population they are meant to treat.

How well can you function at your job if you're given faulty equipment or none at all. How well can you perform your duties if your colleagues in the same department leave and new staff aren't hired, leaving you alone to play the role of 3-4 people?

Now, reflect on those questions and understand the plight of the doctors. Their demands are far more than just money-related. Yet, the government keeps playing them like dice.

I will advise fg to work with doctors to keep the strike at a safe level for patients.

A total strike for doctors will be disastrous.
