Okay, this Doctors should please do 8months strike just like ASUU.

They should not resume to work ooo, until FG meet their demand.

Make we see who go collect Laslas.
Who no get sense go collect sense by Force and Greed is being checked gradually.

See as ASUU just quiet no fit do Gragra again.
It is sure they will never embark on strike in 4yrs cos the No work No pay thing don teach them lesson small.

This is an open forum where anyone can just open their mouth and spout rubbish. Do u know that these docs are overworked and underpaid plus their service environment is unfriendly. Look at what happened to the late doctor in a state hospital run by a state government! Why should they continue when the Lagos state government has refused to do the needful

People like you will never have sense in this life. We are talking about specialist doctors here. If these people don't resume work, how will people whos lifes depend on surgery cope?
If the government don't meet to their demand most of them have call up abroad. That's why we no longer have good doctors anymore, because Government don't value and takecare of them.

Does the Hospital have a CMD?
Does the Hospital has a Director of Works?
Is there a department incharge of the Loft maintenance?

If the Doctors are overworked and underpaid, they should please resign ASAP and let Us know we don't have Doctors. But going on strike and expecting pay is a no-no.

Doctors collect 100k for Uniform allowance but Nurses get 20k but Doctors have never think of speaking for others professionals in their industry not to talk of Public school Teachers who earn meager salaries.

You mean Doctors didn't think of those people who may die because they went on strike but want the FG to think of those who may die because of their strike abi?

I like this your reasoning, the only problem is na one-way.

It's a good policy. Strike as long as you want to get what you want but don't expect to get paid for the months you were not at work

How is that harsh? No one is sacking you or sending you to prison for exercising your right to strike

But it is wrong to expect salary for work not done

Simple
It is because Nigeria has not happened to you. And the government has been fair to you because you have connections.

This group called resident doctors or whatever are one of the major problems we have in Nigeria go to any general hospital or government owned hospital you will realise that this people are jokes. They don't work or like to work just because they feel that their colleagues in foreign countries are better paid than them. Infact most of the doctors have their own private hospitals where they work better and attend to patients. They even direct patient from the general hospital to go there. I think it's high time the federal government privatise the health sector completely because their lackadaisical attitude towards work is at the highest level our health sector needs to be totally revipe and they always have excuses all the time.

Na native Drs go come work for the privatised hospital or do u think a medical Dr will ever work there. U no dey read before u type. Am not a Dr buh I can understand what this ppl are passing thru. Their salaries were last reviewed since 2009 when fuel price was 65k. Then when they went on strike u hurriedly gave them 25% increase. Guy do small calculation and stop writing nonsense. This is 6sth percent increase. This are ppl that go to work on a daily and still work where ur fart for night dey sleep. Are u ok?

Some people are talking nonsense here. Make una get sense.
Even though doctors are the problems of doctors but listen up.
Am a doctor, and I tell u that many junior doctors are already losing it cos of the world load.
Many of my colleagues no longer want to practice.

Many house officers( lowest ranked doctors)
are doing work that shud demand nothing less than 1 million naira a month.

I know doctors that have had to ne on call for 1 straight month.

All because government isn't looking into the issue of number of medical graduates frm our universities due to non accreditation etc

And our crazy ass senior doctors are not looking into that either. They instead strike over money and money all the time. Yet the workload is on the junior officers.

The junior doctors are not allowed to strike yet the senior ones force them to.

Stupid ass modadukas.

Am waiting for the day a senior doctor will talk nonsense, e go see shege banza.

As for government, our pay is too small, but better still we need more accreditation medical schools.

They have the right and liberty to strike and withdraw their services temporarily or as long as they deem necessary.

But when they do, it is unfair to expect to be paid for services not rendered. The government has to push the responsibility for those services to others in the system who won't probably get compensated for it or patients are totally deprived of those services and sometimes with fatal consequences.

If they wish to get paid, they can work and push their demands at the same time. Engage in dialogue, go to court if necessary and mount other form of pressures that would not risk the lives of people.

Yes, sometimes strike is inevitable, as it has the power to force government to act quickly but if those striking also know that they are not getting paid, it would encourage them too to reach a compromise with the government as soon as possible.

Ultimately, both government and unions have to behave with some sense of maturity.
