The lawmaker representing Bauchi Central Senatorial District, Senator Abdul Ningi, has expressed the need for a joint National Assembly session before deploying Nigerian Armed Forces for war.

He noted that the Senate told President Bola Tinubu to rule out war as part of moves to restore democracy in the Niger Republic.

The lawmaker stated this during an interview on Channels TV.

Ningi emphasized, “He has the right to ask (for permission), but the Constitution has stipulated some conditions. For him to ask the Nigerian Armed Forces to go into war, there needs to be a joint sitting, not only the Senate but the National Assembly.

“He sent us a letter enumerating what is happening in ECOWAS, and we read it, and we told him point blank that war is off the table, deal with other issues.”

Senator Ningi praised ECOWAS for their endeavours to address the political upheaval in the Niger Republic, stating coups are unacceptable, “There is nothing under or above the table that should attract a coup.”

Highlighting the deep-rooted bond between Nigeria and Niger, Ningi observed that both nations are nearly identical, separated only by colonial-era boundaries.

He underscored the closeness by mentioning the use of the naira as legal tender in Niger.

While recognizing the need to address the coup, Ningi advocated for solutions beyond military intervention.

ECOWAS 15 head of state, came to Abuja to meet and made a resolution on Military intervention not Tinubu

ECOWAS 15 members country Military Chief came to Abuja to make a resolution for Military intervention not Tinubu

Why is Tinubu interested in war?
He is interested in anything that will cement his unconstitutional seat .
Tinubu is extremely desperate for power and is ready to do anything that will aid his quest

Nigerians must say no to a protracted war in West Africa.

A war with Niger will be an extension of Russia- Ukraine war which has led europe into economic crisis. So they want Bazoum reinstated for their economic benefits (natural resources) not because of democracy.

African leaders must ensure a diplomatic solution to this crisis. We shouldn't allow US and Europe make west Africa another battle ground in a proxy war between the west and Russia.

If Seyi Tinubu and his siblings would lead from the front, I support war against NIGER. It's wrong to send young Nigerians in the army to needless war. They joined the army because they want to feed their family.

Why don't you just check all your post and thread and ask yourself if you are a friend of your own country and patriotic or you are just a bitter IPOB
Dear Kingsley Odafe, I have checked all my posts and threads and I have seen that I am a friend of my own country and patriotic. What do you mean by 'bitter IPOB' and why did you think I am a 'bitter IPOB'?
