During the 2023 presidential inauguration, senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Nigeria’s recently elected president made an announcement which marked the beginning of a new era in the Nigerian petroleum Industry, "NIgeria's Fuel Subsidy is gone"

The decision to end fuel subsidies sent a major shockwave on the Nigerian economy.
this further increased the already worsening inflation rates. transportation fees were at their highest ever.
Nigerians began exploring newer alternatives as it became obvious that the era of cheap fuel is gone forever.
So far, the alternatives largely being studied includes EV or electric vehicles and gas-powered vehicles
Due to Nigeria’s dilapidated power infrastructure. And the tendency to burn fuel to provide the energy needed to power electric vehicles. Nigerians have ignored electric vehicles. The cost of such vehicles and the high technical know-how required for proper maintenance are also major reasons.

The gas option becomes the only viable option of interest. The gas economy is still at its infantry stage in Nigeria and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is determined to fast track this.
The video below showcases the major strategic projects that will spearhead the Nigerian Gas Revolution.

These are all paperweight stories.

The primary objective is to tunnel our gas to Europe so they'll have more resources to siphon for personal gains, as has been the case with crude oil.

What they've failed to consider into their calculations is that crude oil exploration and sale has left sour tastes in our mouths. And if the negotiations do not put a sound percentage in the hands of the host communities this time, nobody is harnessing any gas resources from the South South.

I fully support President Tinubu's plans for a gas revolution in Nigeria. It is the best way to ensure that our nation is energy secure and that our citizens can benefit from gas-powered resources in the long-term.

It's evident from the Minister of State for Gas Resources portfolio he created.

Gas needs to be treated as a separate commodity from Oil in order to fully harness its benefits towards economic growth and industrial development in Nigeria.

The country with the largest gas reserves in Africa and Ninth (likely Seventh now) largest reserves in the world ought to have special focus on Gas as a commodity. Nice one from PBAT.
