I think i would just settle for a masters degree, then a PhD. If that doesn't sail through, then i will just settle for two masters degree, one in economics, and one in Finance.
@Chylo, are there schools that combine both at masters level?

To my knowledge, there are such courses. In my university, there is an MSc course in Financial Economics. So I guess if you google properly you could find similar courses in many universities.

Any mathematical economist guru in the house?

I am to enroll into an Msc program in Unizik this year. My area ( if we are to chose) will be mathematical economics. I wish to be among those proverbial economists like, Markov, Marshal, Doma, Hicks-Hansen,etc, of the world that used mathematics to interpret most economic theory.

Infact! I have already developed a new method that derives a monopolist marginal revenue since my final year in the university of PortHarcourt.
That is, the equation Mr = P(1 - 1/e) which depicts the relationship between a monopolist marginal revenue and price elasticity of demand.

I am yet to send the manuscript of my work to American Economists Society (AES).

I can give an example of my work if you want.

Have a look at Microeconomic Theory by Mas-Colell and Intermediate Microeconomics by Hal Varian. These are the standard texts at the masters level too.
