LOL. The way you Igbos falsely hype your business prowess really baffles me. You're trying to downgrade a Yoruba man's achievement & it shows your level of illiteracy.

Just because your people are traders who sell spare parts, electronics, okrika (used clothing) & Gala, doesn't mean others aren't successful business people.

Business is much wider than mere trading.

Chicken Republic, Tantalizers, and about 80% of fast food chains alone are owned by Yorubas, they're silently making their money everywhere in Nigeria, but you noise makers must always come and display your ignorance!

Even the biggest super market in Nigeria, ShopRite

I thought Yorubas don't chestbeast? One small road and an ethnic tag has appeared in the thread title. If they do 10% of what Igbos do in secret, humanity will not talk for them.

Igbos are truly trying.

Your last statement would have been valid if they had taken care of Christian Chukwu instead of waiting for Otedola to rescue him from the jaws of death.

And we were told that an individual cannot embark on road construction but only the government. That if he even seek approval or permission from the government, it will not be granted. Blames are always put on the government to acquit our prodigal riches who are expected to give back to their community

Hmmm .... interesting. Seems like the locals drive anyhow... arrows painted in the lanes to indicate traffic flow direction but yet ... the cars are facing both directions in each lane. Not nice for a private citizen to build road ... where is the money budgeted for road repair?

These mods are clearly the ones that promote tribalism on nairaland.
OP created his thread with the title "Businessman Single-handedly Constructed A Tarred Road In Sabon Gari, Kano", the mod who moved it to front page changed the topic to "Yoruba Businessman Single-Handedly Constructed A Tarred Road In Sabon Gari, Kano" and of course the tribalists took the bait - you can see how the whole discussion has descended to the usual tribal slurs from both sides. Just remember, that whatever you sow, you will reap in abundance.

You donโ€™t say!
Yorubas live outside SW?
Yet I donโ€™t hear our Hausa/Fulani brothers screaming Yorubas must go back to their region.
Neither have I heard our Yoruba brothers requesting their brothers in the North to return to Yorubaland.

Hypocrisy of the highest order by the self-acclaimed sophisticated ones.

Bro, I don't even like talking about tribe but these people are just too arrogant. They have that long-held belief that Yorubas can't do business successfully and they really need to be called out.

Funny enough they're the first to claim 'tribalism' whenever you talk about their own tribe. ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿพโ€โ™‚๏ธ

I tell you...every single tribes in Nigeria are into businesses, some are into services.

Business is not all about 2by2 shops alone, even the 2by2 shops other tribes are still there as well..

What about billions naira of food northerners are bringing to South every week? Are they not into business ??

Schools controlling by Yorubas makes billions yearly, that is also businesses ( but services). Whatever they think they make per year, Yorubas makes more..

My brother, it has come to a point where we need to speak d truth. If you're an hausa/fulani and you want to live by truth, you will not like us. You see igbos and yorubas, inside and outside Nigeria, they're hardworking, resilient and ambitious. The rent the best houses in the north. They do businesses from d scratch. But the northerners are bunch of drug or codeine infested a$$holes

So when it comes to business you nobody challenge Igbo's in that not that isn't other successful people on business from other tribes.
For you to talk fast food chains no doubt Yorubas are number
But to correct you Igbo's aren't noise maker's just that 85% of Yoruba men are lazy and can't work always depending on then women to go and hustle then come back and feed them..
Almost 80% of importation are done by Igbo
EKULO INTERNATIONAL LIMITED does about 40% of importation in Nigeria
Remember that food chains need spices to cook they will still patronize Igbo's because Tiger Foods Limited is the best and leading companies when it comes to food chains spices.
I don't argue that Yorubas aren't the best in food chain business but it's not that much profitable ask Mr Biggs How well not how far
Just like we don't compare any other tribes with Yorubas in education sector Don't compare in other tribes with Igbo's in terms of business
