The chairman of Rice Mill Owners in Abakaliki, Ebonyi state, comrade Linus Obeji has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing former Governor David Umahi as Nigeria's minister for works.

Obeji stated this while Congratulating Umahi as he takes on the new role and expressed confidence that the President has made a wise decision by appointing Umahi to solve infrastructural decay in Nigeria.

"President Tinubu has made a wise decision by choosing His Excellency, The former Governor of Ebonyi State, Engr David Umahi as the minister for works.

"It shows that he wants him to replicate what he did in Ebonyi State, infrastructural wise in Nigeria, taking cognizance of the fact that Nigeria's infrastructure is in the State of coma," he said

Obeji, who described Umahi's current position as a case of a round peg in a round whole said he believes that the former Governor would apply his engineering ingenuity, "so that at the end of the day Nigeria would be transformed infrastructurally wise in this administration.

"I want to Congratulate His Excellency, Engr David Nweze Umahi, who has distinguished himself as a true Nigerian and an impeccable leader on his appointment as Federal Minister for Works.

"Indeed, Engr David Umahi has done well for every Ebonyi man or woman, today I can stand tall to say that his hard work is paying.

"He came to Ebonyi State that was seen as a backyard State, a place that was seen as the dust of the nation and made us proud today.

"Engr David Umahi is a good ambassador of the State and has represented it in different capacities, as a governor and immediate past deputy Senate majority leader of the 10th, representing Ebonyi South senatorial District.

"He went into the Senate and set a record as the first Ebonyi man to become a deputy Senate majority leader, a first timer for that matter"

"He is an achiever and a man that is worth every respect and we believe in his capacity to affect the decayed infrastructural system in Nigeria as he did it in Ebonyi State ". He added while praying for Umahi to succeed in his new assignment.

The chairman commended Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru's contributions towards ensuring that the best hands are choosing to represent the State in National affairs and noted him as a peace ambassador for the good of the people.

" I wish to also give my credence to the current administration, because it is in the position of the Governor to send a minister nominee and because of his support we are celebrating today.

"We are very proud of Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru because he is doing well, he has stood tall to lift Ebonyi to another level, he has made Ebonyi peaceful and accommodated everyone," he said.
