My question is, of what benefit is this fining to common man. After our wicked rulers use these fines to enrich themselves, and recovering money wasted on elections, ordinary Nigerians will be at the receiving end since all these commercial banks must use unscrupulous charges on their customers to recover this money

Hope in this regime the revenues reach the coffers of the state instead of being fritted away by the agency.
NGX is a private company and not a govt agency. The fines are shared as dividends among the shareholders of NGX Plc

These fines ought to be increased. It’s too small for those involved. Financial recklessness should not be encouraged in any form.

Nigerian exchange should take it easy on these companies. Most of them are barely managing to keep their head afloat in this horrible economy and you're still dishing out penalties....the government is no being fair.
Your assumption is totally wrong. It is a custom that companies do hide their quarterly financial results to evade paying correct income tax.
GSK didn't even submit any of 2022 four financial reports not to talk of 2023. They have scammed us. The banks are even worse despite all the bank charges we do receive.

To be fair, three months to file audited financial statement is not enough. A lot goes into the audit of account and subsequent filing of returns....you see reason why some companies don't want to go public. They will rather prefer to be held privately to offering their shares for listing on the floor of the Nigeria stock exchange. At least, six months after the close of financial year is ideal.
