Ogun East Senator and Former Governor of Ogun State, Otunba Engr. Gbenga Daniel, has expressed deep shock and sadness over the demise of Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Lamidi Odulawa, retired. ACP Odulawa, a long-time confidant and associate of Senator Daniel, passed away recently, leaving a void that the former governor described as irreplaceable, Apples Bite Magazine reports.

The news of ACP Lamidi Odulawa’s passing came as a profound shock to Senator Gbenga Daniel, who had engaged in a conversation with him only a few weeks prior. Their discussion revolved around political developments in Ogun State, a topic both were deeply passionate about. The sudden loss of such a trusted friend and political ally has left Senator Daniel in a state of sorrow.

Lamidi Odulawa and Senator Gbenga Daniel shared a relationship that spanned over three decades, characterized by unwavering loyalty and commitment. A significant chapter of Senator Daniel’s political journey was closely intertwined with ACP Odulawa’s contributions. During the pre-election campaign in 2001 and throughout the election period, Odulawa played a pivotal role in overseeing security arrangements as Senator Daniel and his team tirelessly crisscrossed Ogun State, campaigning in all 236 wards.

Due to his exceptional performance and dedication during the campaign, ACP Odulawa was subsequently appointed as Senator Daniel’s Special Adviser on Security during his tenure as Governor of Ogun State. Throughout this period and beyond, Lamidi Odulawa remained an unwavering and loyal political associate, not only within the Sagamu community but also across the entire Remo land and Ogun State at large.

If only our leaders are reminded that all the journey of life ends in the 6 Feet, they would have been mindful of the way they lived and amass undue wealth that won’t add value to them rotten bodies in the grave.
