In a move to strengthen international ties, diplomatic relations and environmental cooperation, President Yaroslav Mar has officially appointed Professor Aniebiet Inyang Ntui as the Honorary Consul of Lostisland to the Federal Republic of Nigeria, through a decree (28/2023) signed in the Holy City of Jerusalem on the 8th of September, 2023.
Lostisland is a global sovereignty and an independent social and cultural organization operating in the form of a nation-state, similar to the Order of Malta.

“Professor Aniebiet Ntui, a renowned Nigerian diplomat and environmentalist, brings a wealth of experience and a distinguished track record to this crucial diplomatic role.

Professor Aniebiet Inyang Ntui is a highly respected figure on both the national and international stages. Her accomplishments and contributions have earned her recognition as the “Most Read Researcher in Nigeria” by the Web of Science, a testament to her dedication and expertise in the field of environmental science.

Professor Aniebiet Inyang Ntui’s impact transcends academia. She has actively participated in and chaired panels at numerous international events, showcasing her dedication to global diplomacy and environmental advocacy. Her contributions as a panel chair at events such as the United Nations Biodiversity Conference, the G20 Bali Summit, and the United Nations Climate Change Conference highlight her influential role in shaping global discussions on critical issues.

In her capacity as the Ambassador of the EU’s European Climate Pact, Professor Aniebiet Ntui is a key player in promoting climate action and supporting the implementation of the European Green Deal. Her role as an Ambassador involves informing, inspiring, and supporting climate policy and action within her communities and networks.

In June 2023, Professor Aniebiet Ntui engaged in a high-level meeting with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of Ukraine to address the environmental impact of the Destruction of the Kakhovka Dam, a concerning consequence of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. This significant meeting brought together influential figures, including Vice-President of the European Parliament Heidi Hautala, environmental activist Greta Thunberg, and former Deputy Prime Minister and former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sweden Margot Wallström. Lostisland is a member state of the Union Against Micronational War, the Micronational Cartography Society, and the Antarctic Micronational Union, and an original signatory of the Montediszamble Convention.
