Seems the time to finally get rid of the poor from the society is here especially in Nigeria.

So due to unemployment (since I lost my last job), I found myself in a situation where I rushed to someone this morning to borrow me 5k or any amount, knowing my situation.

The screenshots attached are what he sent to me as evidence of how people run to him almost on daily basis to seek help. Just a few of what he received.

These are people that are trying their best in terms of earning a living but economic hardship is still biting harder.

I dont think it has been this bad before. Fuel subsidy removal compounded the whole thing. Garri and bread no longer affordable to the common. Survival is no longer within the reach of the poor. 1k can't prepare soup for a family to eat no matter how you economize things. Where do the poor run to now?

God help poor Nigerians. People are dying. Help someone if you can.

Hunger is needed to reset the brains of many Nigerians.

Food will always win over tribe and religion.

Those voting to deal with the other group will have their brains rewired by hunger.

Soon touts will start breaking into their homes to steal pot of soup.

Truth is, with the caliber of people still grabbing power by force, suffering is not likely to end.

Nigerians should deal with it.

The problem is, we have been seeing the same type of post like OP's post above since...well Nigeria was a country.

And at the end, someone is going to tell us that if we voted for Peter Obi, by now, fuel would be costing N100 a liter, food would be so cheap that rice would cost N200 a 10kg bag, and minimum wage would be N200000 and a dollar would be N10.

The reason why we are broke, and have been for decades...is simple. We rely on oil. Oil prices have to be above 100 dollars a barrel for us to earn enough cash to pay for all we want...and even then, it might not be enough. Most of the time, oil prices are too low to sustain us, so we take loans. Then add the corruption looting and stealing, and that small money looks less.

The way forward means that the government taxes every taxable Nigerian, removes subsides on power and petrol totally so that investment and money would flow in, and savings result...and the investment can be taxed, and Nigeria goes from being a oil dependent nation to being an industrial nation.

The problem with my above comment is that it involves more hardship.

South Korea is a country that went from being poor and broke that it was behind Senegal in 1960, to being super rich today on the back of people who were willing to work long hours to make sure it worked. Doing the 3 d's work...dirty, dangerous and difficult. Now today, SK is a rich nation, but the generation that did the hard work are mostly poor, and suffering.

Nigerians don't want to do suffering. We suffer too much as it is, so any one who comes and says we must suffer more is a joker. So, government spend more on subsides, more on freebies, more on nice things....and at the end of the day, we get into more debt...because we are paying for this on money that on a good day can sustain a nation of 10 million people.

And the desire for easy life manifests in secessionism...after all when we get Biafra, we would get all the oil money and live a life of riches and prosperity on oil money, while the rest of the country can go rely on groundnuts and cocoa and cotton. (Yeah, like that worked....cotton and cocoa countries are the World Bank's biggest customers...if you knows what i mean).

Anyway, the harsh truth is simple. We do the 3D work needed to get Nigeria rich, we stop pretending we are rich, we stop defending PDP and APC , and we all work hard.

But since we want to chop oil money...who cares.

Watch how number of voters will reduce in the next election.

Check it the poor will not breath.
The economy was bad before the president took over,
It was made worse by the no-cash policy by Emefiele.. Then later, subsidy was removed and which made everything way expensive.
Transportation became a big deal.
Places you could go with #100 now became #300

Some of us lost our jobs. Some of the people still with a job can't even save and feed conviniently.

Its as bad as tht

"If obi had won things would be the same "
"Obi is no different "

Know they are tribalist

The fall of naira from 750 to 1050 is the fault of Tinubu diving and taken economic decision without understanding basic economic Preciples

Floating the naira carelessly brought us here

Imagine a president wants to "kick start" a $500 billion economy with mere 50 billion naira

Truth is Tinubu and his team re clueless

Exactly. They'll tell you they have no money to eat, but they have money to fork out to keep enriching their obnoxious pastors that haven't served them.

Lazy buggers that want something for nothing.
Their society will never progress if they keep sitting and waiting for someone to bail them out.
