I think for a minimum, that's ok. Unless you want to spend more and build a more fortified door ( Or like bullet proof doors)

Totally agree. I have learnt the hard way after being taken for a mug after foundation. Since then I have bought everything myself and only negotiated for labour. In some areas I have had to pay more but I have done so in the knowledge that I am least using the right materials of my choice. Some of these bad contractors charge you for good materials and end up using inferior quality just to make more money. Some even use less quantity of recommended materials like granite and cement and charge you for everything.

Please be careful and be very vigilant on your project and site.

Folks I am in the same boat with Befto with respect to my project. I have made up my mind to combine POP, ceiling screeding with cornices for the ground floor. And also combine POP and PVC for the first floor. However I just got a new idea but I am not sure if anybody have used this is naija before. In my present house my ground floor ceiling was done using what my builder called knockdown paint. It is a powdery paint that is water based. It is normally prayed on smoothly finished ceiling surface. See some of the pictures attached. This is the ground floor ceiling for my present house. Please can I get this in Lagos? Do we have artisans who know how to do this in Lagos?

Hello gentledoj,
As for durability and nice, pop is the best because it's makes house cold and brings out the beauty of the house. PVC generates heat and quickly melt in contact with fire. Asbestos is very good to use for your ceiling but has the disadvantage of breakage when in contact with water and this affects all the major types of asbestos like paper, cement and wood.

But POP defeats all these disadvantages because it doesn't melt when in contact with fire, doesn't generate heat instead it makes your house cool and water logged in it can be bailed out if you notice any trace of water on it. The price of the product and installation of any of the ceiling type depends on the area the project is executed and the size of the house, so it's better for the engineer to visit the project site and do every necessary measurements before quoting price. That is a more professional thing to do.
