No matter how bad Nigeria is,independence day should be celebrated and anyone cancelling it is committing treason against the federal republic of Nigeria
I have lived in a country where official and ordinary citizens are getting sentenced to dealth for committing a crime against the nations flag or coat of arm but sadly our judiciary simply not functional otherwise any governor canceling independent day could have been removed from power.

It must be celebrated no matter what, thousands of people died during slave trade and many laid down their life to build this country.
Go to the so called developed countries and abuse the flag or commit a crime against anything the country stand for You will be dealth with, with full weight of law

You know so many of the so called leaders of this country are ignorant of their national history, thats why some states don't teach young children history in their schools.... Don't blame them.. It is what they knew and understood they act upon.

How the mighty has fallen! A day we can reposition and tell the world our worth. If we do not see reasons to celebrate our journey and worth, others will celebrate us with their narrations.
