Lagos Government Shuts Popular Nightclub Amid Noise Pollution

The Lagos State government has taken action against noise pollution by sealing a popular nightclub, Silk Club, located at 190 Awolowo Road, Ikoyi.

The club was closed down during a nighttime enforcement operation conducted by the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) under the directive of the Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab.

This action is part of efforts to curb noise pollution in the area.

Wahab wrote on his X (formerly Twitter) handle, “As I directed, the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency @LasepaOfficial conducted a nighttime enforcement operation, leading to the closure and sealing of Silk Club at 190, Awolowo Road, Ikoyi due to noise pollution.”

It's good but very unnecessary....
Lagos as a whole is noisy and majority of the noise comes from markets and motor parks....
Is Oshodi market quiet? When sellers are ringing bells?
Is Alaba international market quiet? When those sellers in Musical section are always "sampling their speakers"....
Is Mile 2 bus park quiet? When condoctor voice is louder than microphone...
Lol...
