The Two Conditions For A Person's Deed To Be Accepted by Rashduct4luv(m): 7:15am On Oct 13, 2023
The two conditions for a person's deeds to be accepted are that it must be done sincerely for the sake of Allah and in accordance with the sunnah of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.

Ibn al-Qayyim reported that Fudayl Ibn Iyad (May Allah have mercy on both of them) said, "Allah purifies good deeds and makes them correct. Indeed, if deeds are sincere and incorrect, they will not be accepted. If deeds are correct and insincere, they will not be accepted. Rather, deeds are only accepted if they are both sincere and correct. Sincere means they are done for Allah alone and correct means they are done according to the Sunnah". Then Fudayl recited the verse, 'So whoever hopes in the meeting with his Lord, let him work righteousness and associate none in the worship of his Lord." (Q18:110)
_I'lam al-Muwaqqi' in 3/124_

May Allah help us to meet him with deeds that are both sincere and correct.

Dear brother , you only gave a broader view on the issue of deeds been acceptable (sincerity and in accordance with the sunnah ). You should have attached examples of such so that it would make the topic much interesting 🤔.

For instance, A Muslim gathers people to recite Qur'an for him in order to win elections matters in court ?
Is it an act of worship? Yes
Is it a sincere deed ? No
Is it in accordance with the sunnah? No

Another example, A Muslim decides to sponsor pilgrimage fees to fellow Muslims with "conditions" that they pray to Allah for him.
Is it an act of worship? Yes
Is it a sincere deed ? No
Is it in accordance with the sunnah? No

Same principles applies to those practicing house warming with Qur'an recitation, opening stalls or business places with Qur'an or other acts of Ibada. Those Deeds are infact not sincere.
The below quoted verses are from suratul hud Qur'an 12:15-16. Despite the clear explanation of the verses , please look for the tafsir by companions of the prophet in ibn kathir and others. These practices are very common in Nigeria today. For those that will still defend their intentions been for the sake of Allah, we would ask , is it in accordance with the sunnah?
