STATE HOUSE PRESS RELEASE PRESIDENT TINUBU DIRECTS WITHDRAWAL OF FERMA CHAIRMANSHIP NOMINATION President Bola Tinubu has directed the withdrawal of the nomination of Engr. Imam Kashim Imam to serve as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA). The President's withdrawal of the above-mentioned nomination is directed with immediate effect. All other appointments to the Board and Executive Management team of FERMA are not affected by this directive. Seems most times Nigeria presidents don't really know those that find their names on appointment lists. I remember Buhari once said he doesn't know most of his appointees. Members of kitchen cabinet just pop up with lists here and there and push to Mr. President's table to sign. 1 Like |

Some of these appointments are most likely being pushed by the Chief of Staff and other powerful people around the President. Once these people's shenanigans are brought to the President's attention, he rescinds the appointment. A 20 something years old, recently graduated, simply does not have enough experience to be chairman of Ferma. He should be assigned to a lower role that fits his experience. |

Nigerians, we don't know what we want. Na we go dey shout "give youths a chance" and after dem appoint a youth as board chairman, na same people still dey shout "e no get experience". Meanwhile, this young guy don follow work with Umahi when e been Governor and will still be working under Umahi because FERMA na under Ministry of works. Ogamysamo: Gowon became Military President of Nigeria at 31 years. Patrice Lumumba of Congo DR became Prime Minister days before he was 35 years and was killed while still 35 years. Those roles were not mere board Chairmanships. Let the youth continue to reject the youth, while condemning the "old youths" that are employed. |
