WHO BENEFITS FROM MARRIAGE?

He's 65 years old.

Retired pensioner.

Worked all his life to raise his kids.

Deprived himself of life's pleasures to pay expensive school fees and living expenses for his kids abroad.

They are now well-off in Europe and America.

His wife, 60, has relocated to live with her kids.

He's alone back in Nigeria.

His kids barely call him.

He now has to start life all over as a bachelor.

He struggles with high blood pressure and other ailments.

How long more would he survive alone?

This is the reality for most working class monogamous men. Their old age is usually lonely and in many cases, sad.

Try as you may, women love their kids more than their husbands, no matter how good the man is. The older he gets, the less use they have for him.

Tell me then, what do men benefit from marriage?

They sacrifice so much but get little recognition for the hard work. The woman reaps all the benefits as the kids are often closer and more affectionate towards her when she becomes old.

Be in good close relationship with your kids, they will not forget you in old age. Stop being negative. That it happend to you, doesnt mean you should generalize the situation

Very simple
Most problems in life is self imposed
Nothing will stop him from saving his pension as he was raising his children after all it is global knowledge that children love their mother no matter the amount of sacrifice the father makes
... Your story sounds fake though

1. All these half-baked tales una dey like to tell don dey get really stale for. Why did his children see fit to abandon him in his need? Why did his wife see fit to leave him behind? undecided

2. Marriage works best as a horizontal relationship, not a vertical one, that way both partners benefit immensely from each other. undecided

Train a child in a way he should go...when he grows up he'd never depart from it.

Old age wouldn't be a problem should the man treats his wife well while they were still young.

Kids never forget...no matter how long the ill treatment is... they're only waiting for the right time to pay back for all the abuses.

Many modern men have started learning and adjusting to being there for their wives and kids...not financially alone but all aspects to safeguard their old age.

Be good to your family especially kids cos they are your tomorrow.

Recycled tale with different s different picture, this baba tie wrapper dey turn im garri while the earlier picture was that of a Kenyan mzee turning ugali (maize flour).

A man should never marry nor have children, let him enjoy his single life till his old age so that he wouldn't waste his energy to fend for children that would abandon him in his old age.

When he is old, he can hire carers to take care of his daily functioning with the money he saved.

He likely has abandoned his father, now fearing his children would also abandon him.

You people just want to victims every time, both men and women.

Life is all about planning.

Before you marry, make sure you enjoy your life. Your life is yours and yours alone.

Why are you having children while struggling, I wonder why people do this rubbish. Some of you can't even boast of ever enjoying life 3 months prior to marriage.

After you are done enjoying, get married and plan your family very well. If it's just a kid you can cater for, have that one. If you want more, it's fine but space them very well, at least 5 years in-between them.

If it's true he has children abroad, it means they can afford to employ 2 maids if they wish.

Also, why did he allow the wife leave? If the woman had insisted, he could have easily gotten a new wife.

I want you people to do something about your life and stop complaining. No one is coming to save you.
