You probably did not read everything up there. They're all business men. By the time BUA buys trucks, fuel them and pay drivers and loaders salary, he will be selling at same price as Dangote. Many of you get easily deceived that Dangote is ripping you off, why dont you go to Ewekoro and get elephant cement direct to your site instead of shouting Dangote's name upandan.

After all, I can't be expected to load 3500 Naira BUA cement in Benin and then sell for 3500 in Lagos, considering transport and the toll paid along the way.

Bua needs to reduce its price from N3,500 to 2,500 from the factory for the price to come down

Really? I guess they can reduce staff pay so they don't lose. They should also reduce their electric bill and use free resources so they can give it away free.

One useless thing about this country is that the masses themselves are too greedy

Why don't they tell us how exactly they transport and buy the product when its was around 5500 naira

Guess what the price of bua cement here in Edo state is still 5500 naira

We all know cost of transportation is insignificant here since their factory is right here

Now ask the retailers they will tell you old stock in the shop is the problem that they have to sell it off first

This are same Nigerians even when they have old stock in the market and the price of that goods goes up they won't sell at the old price they will sell at the new price

Why don't they sell their old stock at the new price now
Greediness i swear

It's crystal clear that epocrisy has taken over every aspect of human lives in Nigeria....Should we say Abdul Samad Rabiu does Not know there is no means of transportation of his products factory to retailers...This is very embarrassing n disgusting...

It is their profit margins they need to reduce. Nigerian cement manufacturers have extremely fat profit margins because cement importation is banned.

I'm going to need evidence of that "fat profit" please, considering the huge energy and loan costs.

I'll look for their annual report, but if you have it already I'd be grateful.

I think the problem here is lack of potential millionaires who are ready to invest and buy to supply wide at the new price.
trust me the turnover could be ground breaking to establishing one a full time stable millionaire.
the old greedy lots would have their losses even bigger..
there's no humanity in business only opportunity.

We did not understand what all this reduction means, reduction is not from 5200 to 3500 the ex factory of Bua cement before the reduction is 4050 so is just #500 reduction and they distribute it to their major distributor in that price which I believe they still not reduce the ex factory for the distributor because they paid for transporting it to them but if you wish to buy for 3500 come buy and you bear the transport fares, ex factory means end you buy and provide transportation fare, Rabiu should have stated clearly the ex factory price before the reduction,he only stated that he slash it to 3500 and some people believe is from 5200 to 3500

It's easier said than done!

To break monopoly you have to ramp up production, to ramp up production you need to invest more money to buy more machinery to increase capacity...where is the money to do that?! undecided

Even if we do, wicked folks will find a way to ground the train, or truck drivers coming to stage a protest ............ this country has a long way to go

Seems like BUA Cement is profitable. So, I'd suggest you buy shares to benefit from dividends instead of complaining, because they are not a charity.

demand and supply ogbeni
Why sell for 3500 in Benin if they can get 5K. In Lagos?
You will just end up with scarcity of cement in Benin
If you want cheap cement produce it yourself
