Despite the fact that the 2011 governorship election in Imo State is still a subject of litigation at the Election Petition Tribunal, politicians from the three geo-political zones of the state have started to plot torwards the 2015 governorship race.


Investigation revealed that so far political big-wigs from the Peoples Democratic Party. PDP who are said to be interested in the 2015 governorship race include three time member and Deputy Speaker, Federal House of Representatives, Chief Emeka Ihedioha who represents Aboh Mbaise and Ngor Okpala federal constituency; Barr Humphrey Anumudu; Minister of State, foreign Affairs, Prof. Viola Onwuliri; Another three time member representing Mbaitoli/Ikeduru federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Hon.Bethel Amadi and Senator representing Orlu zone, Sen. Hope Uzodinma.

While Emeka Ihedioha,Humphrey Anumudu,Viola Onwuliri and Bethel Amadi are from Owerri zone, Hope Uzodinma comes from Orlu zone. Though with Owelle Rochas Okorocha defying the zoning odd to emerge as the governor of the State having come from Orlu, the zoning factor may no loner determine who clicks the PDP guber ticket come 2015.
