In a stunning move, Murtala Ajaka, the candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in the upcoming Kogi gubernatorial election, has stepped down in favour of Leke Abejide, the candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC). Ajaka's decision, which came in a letter dated November 3rd, 2023, has sent shockwaves through the Kogi political landscape. Some observers have alleged that Femi Gbajabiamila, the Chief of Staff to the President, played a role in facilitating the deal between Ajaka and Abejide. It was alleged that Gbajabiamila is interested in shifting the seat of power to the Yoruba speaking region of Kogi State hence his support for Leke. Whatever the motivations behind Ajaka's decision, it is clear that it has altered the dynamics of the Kogi gubernatorial race.

Nonsense rubbish. This can never be true. Muri is way stronger than Leke. Who even knows Leke? A lot of my people, Ebira, are even planning on voting Muri, that's how popular he is. |
