This is to announce the passing away of Dr.Onaolapo Olusegun SOLEYE.
He died at the early Hour of Wednesday 15th November, 2023 at Red Wood Speacialist Hospital, Ibara GRA at the age of 90 years.

He turned 90 on 11th November, 2023.

Dr. Gbenga Adeoye in a release on Saturday eulogised Dr. Soleye for his upstanding character and described him as a mentor with faultless record.


He was a former Commissioner in the Old Western Region and a Commissioner holding different portfolios after the creation of Ogun State such as Lands, Trade, Industry and Commerce.

He was also a former Commissioner of Finance in Ogun State and a former Minister of Finance of the Federal Republic of Nigeria during Idiaagbo Buhari Regime.

He is survived by his wife Mrs Modupe Womiloju Soleye and his children
Olamide Soleye
Abimbola Fadimu
Oluwafunmilakin Soleye and
Eyitayo Soleye

He lost his first son in March 2023, Major General Lola Soleye which affected him greatly .

Apart from his Biological Children ; He has Several Adopted sons and daughters.

One of his closest adopted Son is Dr.Gbenga Adeoye who is a Lawyer and a Chartered Accountant.

The likes of Engr.Tokunbo Odebunmi and Town Planner Stephen Adewolu among other family members will greatly miss him.

Dr.Soleye live a life of Integrity, Honesty and one among the few Nigerian Leaders with Zero Tolerance for Corruption.

May his soul rest in perfect peace.

He was a Teacher of Teachers .Homely and dislike every form of dishonesty.
