Unmasking PDP's Hypocrisy In Democracy Discourse - NPECCNF by ibibiofirstlady(f): 10:38am On Nov 16, 2023

The recent press statement released by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is not only a clarion call but also a glaring manifestation of irony, as the party attempts to paint the All Progressives Congress (APC) administration with the brush of totalitarianism and anarchy while conveniently ignoring its own egregious acts against democratic principles.

The PDP's alarmist rhetoric about Nigeria sliding into totalitarianism echoes hollow in the face of its own refusal to comply with court orders, a fundamental pillar of any democracy. The party conveniently sidesteps the glaring hypocrisy in its refusal to obey the orders of the Honorable Justice C.O Ajah of the Enugu State High Court directing it to recognize Rt. Hon. SKE Udeh-Okoye as the National Secretary of the party until the determination of the substantive suit.

While pointing fingers at the APC for alleged attempts to stifle democracy, the PDP forgets its own troubling role in undermining democratic norms. The party's disregard for the judiciary's directive exposes a disconcerting double standard that undermines the very fabric of the democracy it claims to champion.

The PDP's selective amnesia becomes even more apparent when it talks about conflicting judgments and alleged manipulations of elections. One cannot help but wonder if the party is engaging in deliberate irony, given its own record of contesting election outcomes through the legal system while simultaneously refusing to abide by court decisions when they go against its interests.

The press release's emphasis on the importance of democracy rings hollow when juxtaposed with the PDP's actions. A democracy thrives on respect for the rule of law, adherence to court orders, and a commitment to transparency. The PDP's refusal to comply with the Enugu State High Court's order exposes a glaring contradiction in its supposed dedication to democratic ideals.

It is imperative for the PDP to reassess its stance and align its actions with the democratic principles it professes to uphold. To genuinely contribute to the defense and sustenance of democracy, the party must lead by example, demonstrating a commitment to the rule of law and respect for court decisions.

In conclusion, the PDP's attempt to cast itself as a defender of democracy is a paradoxical narrative, given its own track record. To truly preserve and protect Nigeria's democracy, all political parties, including the PDP, must be held to the same standard of adherence to the rule of law and respect for the judiciary's independence.

This scuffle reminded of what one olodo NYSC teach told us during my secondary school years. He said if you drink small bad water you would have typhoid, if you drink it big you would have cholera.

I was told by my grandmother that if you marry on Thursday and consulate the marriage before 3pm in the afternoon when sun isn't shining and there's no NEPA light you would give birth to 3plets.

But if rain falls on a Sunday morning and you're in church and can shout hallelujah loudly 77 times during the rain (the exact number of times Jesus said we should forgive people) and you're not interrupted by anybody, you would be become very rich...

I also learned that if you masturbate on a Monday morning before going for an interview and use the spilled sperm to rub your face, you would get the job because the sperm cells are your children and they would secretly beg your employer to employ you so that they won't starve to death.

If you don't understand a single thing in what I wrote, it means you've gotten the message I was trying to pass across, Nigerians don't understand APC's kind of leadership since 2015. It has been confusing our confusion.

PDP stole our bull, killed it and shared with us. We later realised that our bulls were missing but we also remembered we had a feast of beef. W e couldnt shout much or curse who stole it because we were afraid the curse might get back to us since we had unknowingly participated or taken share in the missing bull.
APC came onboard we were happy our bulls will no longer be stolen. We have found out howbeit lately that our bulls are not just only missing, we are no longer having a share of it at all. In short the person who stole the bull is even searching for the missing bull with us. He is even not holding back in the barrage of curse he is spewing. We have become confuse. He is crying more than us about our missing bull that he is the culprit.
This the difference between APC and PDP. PDP stole our bulls and shared with us. With APC we cant even locate where the bull was singed. Not even the smell of singed hair.

PDP is a party of hypocrites and opportunists. They are as bad as the APC they castigate when it comes to disobeying court orders.
