At times I wonder why the government isn't interested in peace in the SE, the peace in the SE is a very low hanging fruit but wickedness prevents common sense .

Igboho was released with connivance from tinubu ,yet MNK is still in jail .

Just because of one man the security forces are dying like flies in SE, how much is MNK life worth ?

If statistics shows that the next soldiers to die in SE can be prevented by the release of MNK, why not release him?

Get him sign an undertaking of peace like uwazurike and everyone goes home happy .

Let me predict that some low thinking individual here will quote me and start writing without critical reasoning .

Why.
This is an honest assessment.
Not to talk about the fact that the direct cost of insecurity to the economy is humongous and growing and the indirect cost of monetising security agents which is potentially deadly and destabilising.

For it is one thing for militants and bandits to have huge resources to prosecute their nefarious activities, it is another thing to have serving military officers amass huge vaults under the guise of security votes.

On the aspect of MNK and the South East question, history is filled with the inability of States to hound political prisoners into oblivion. The thought that the issue can be locked away and forgotten while everyone goes about his merry way is just fantasy. Nigeria is just not yet ready to address her structural issues so we continued to live under threat day after day, costing no only lives but huge resources that should be expended kin forward motion. Liberty is expensive for both individuals, communities and the State. The price to pay for that is humility, solidarity and equity.

There is absolutely nothing wrong in sitting down and negotiating solutions towards peace.
It was done in Northern Ireland, it was done in south-africa, it was done in Burma before the military made a volte-face and the country plunged back into misery. All these places faced armed struggle the kind of which we have not even seen a fraction of in Nigeria, so what is our problem, except for the pride of an ignorant State and the ideology of sections of this country.

You don't seem like you have any reasonable thing to say. The Constitution says there is a sovereign territory called Nigeria. Now there is a region that says it wants to leave, contrary to the Constitution. You are now waiting for a President who is sworn to defend that Constitution and who really has no incentive to promote your secession, to be the one to take it upon himself to organize a referendum, citing the events of 1960, when you have lawmakers who can easily amend the Constitution.

Who should build the consensus but the people seeking to leave?? You have governors, senators, house of representatives members, State house of assembly members, and your own version of common sense is that the President should abandon the agenda that brought him into office to pursue a referendum that would more or less be a stain on his legacy.

Are you sure you are thinking at all?

At this moment, Nigeria military and police will continue to die in Biafraland as corrupt Nigeria politicians will continue to send more troops to that area to die needlessly

You are accusing fair countries that can see your tribalist and religious hate rule against the SE; economically and security wise.


Even if true, why shouldn't they?
why dem no go take advantage of the uncertainty and the growing untrustworthy conditions in Nigeria. Are you not also hating and looking for weak points in their countries?
You guys sabotaged a progressive Nigerian concept, not the foreigners, due to your systemic imbalance against the SE, genocide planning against the SE, daily oppression and suppression, terrorist in the sham forces, fraudulent funding diversion of terrorist fighting funds received from the countries you are insulting, etc

I'm not disagreeing with you on the nature of the problem. But it is clear those who are being cheated do not have any serious desire to secede.

Secession is so easy to achieve in reality. If you are truly sure, that Igbos want to create a new country, then it can be achieved without shedding any blood.

1. Igbos (and any other group that wants to leave) in the government at all levels, from the National Assembly to governors, should adopt the same position of desiring a country of their own. Be unified and consistent as to your demand to leave.

2. Igbos should relocate back to the south-east en masse along with their investments

With just these two steps, the Federal government will know you are serious and at the very least, they will begin to negotiate with you.

Whenever this kind of lamentation of losing troops daily"comes from no one else but CDS is a clear indication that they ongoing gorilla war going on in the south east is clearly not working in favor of the military or the Nigerian state.
Military action can only provide 30% solution he said.

And He's indirectly telling the political class to as a matter of urgency leverage on 70% solution to negotiate or dialogue. He even went as far mentioning names as whom to negotiate or dialogue with.
