Citizens Blame Biya, Wants peace with Biafra as scarcity of fuel worsen 15 December, 2023 Cameroon is experiencing scarcity of fuel and high increase in price of the commodity. According to citizens, a litter and half now sells for 2500 France CFA. Three days ago, separatist militants, Dragon Fighter Marine, an armed group suspected to be members of the Biafra Nations League, BnL, bombed two oil installations at the maritime border of Bakassi Peninsula, leaving 9 Joint Border Securities of Nigeria and Cameroon dead. 24hrs later, Nigeria and Cameroon suspended drilling of oil at the maritime border till January 2024 following the attack. The government has been advised by senior citizens to dialogue with the Pro Biafra separatists holding the Bakassi Peninsula hostage. In Cameroon, various reports have blamed the government for the bombings and killings going on in the Peninsula. The question is whether the BnL will accept peace talk with President Paul Biya. |
