For example: Some former Soviet countries became rich after they joined the European Union.Poland, Czech, Estonia , Hungary and Latvia are now categorized as developed countries. Some South East States are less than an hour drive to a neighbouring oil rich state.
Conclusion: Your neighbors can make you rich. Most rich European countries also have rich neighbours

4) High basic education attainment rate: High completion rate of primary and secondary education and an ability to communicate in at least the official language is an advantage for the east. Even those who do not end up in tertiary institutions can be easily taught new skills that are in demand. This foundation was laid by early missionaries, most especially Catholic and Anglican churches. The North didn’t really have this advantage.

Thank you for your comments. I am happy for their religious knowledge attributed to some high-level morals within their society. But not backing it up with high technical manpower like Iran, Turkey, and Malaysia is not an economic advantage. Besides, the language of instruction is not our official language. This makes learning any knowledge codified in our official language difficult for them, except for those who learnt it from other sources. We are talking about the economy here. Sanusi once complained about this. All the same. I don't intend to hurt the North, I love them.

It doesn't mean it is not happening in the South East though.
