Every year ( except last year ) I have been writing about the Nairaland Man of the Year Award, Nairaland Poo of the Year Award, Nairaland Sport Man of the Year Award, Nairaland Most Controversial Person of the Year Award. So this year won't be different as well. Let's get down to business.

Nairaland Man of the Year Award:
Nominees:
1. President Bola Ahmed Adekunle Tinubu ( GCFR, C in C of FRN ). I have read it and heard several times that this man should be study in the political realms for the way he plays politics. Yes. They are right but the president is more than that. This man I believe should be studied by anyone who wish to make it in life and is afraid of what people will say. Picture Emefiele stand with the then President working against him by introducing policies at the last minute that will jeopardize the chances of their candidate winning the election. Picture the social medias users tarnishing his image with so many concorted and true stories just to pull him down. Picture the Nigerian prophets prophesying against him etc but the man with many lives refused to die even for a minute. He went, plan and executed his plans wonderfully well and at last, he had victory to show for it.

He is truly a man we need to study on how to dodge in life and have a never say yes to defeat spirit. On how to never loose your guard no matter what people think about you. All what you just need is to be focused on the prize asset you are after.

2. Ngozi Okonjo Iweala: She is presently serving as the Director-General of the World Trade Organization since March 2021. Notably, she is the first woman and first African to lead the World Trade Organization as Director-General

Winner: President Bola Ahmed Adekunle Tinubu ( GCFR C in C of the FRN )

Nairaland Sport Man of the Year Award
Nominees:
1. Victor Osimhen: the Napoli striker was one of the stars of last season in European football as he helped Napoli to win the scudetto for the first time in 33 years. Also recently, CAF crowned him as the best player in Africa in the men's category.

2. Asisat Osoala. The Barcelona forward has been crowned the best player in the Africa continent for a record sixth time. She was recently crowned again with the prestigious award.

The Tigress ( the female National Basketball team of Nigeria ). The team won gold medal at the AfroBasketball Nations cup this year and also won the gold medal at the All African Games this year.

Winner: The Tigress for winning the Women's Africa Basketball championship four times in a row now and also winning the 2023 All African Games.

Most Controversial Person Award:
Most Controversial here means the most loved and still the most hated.

Nominees:
1. President Bola Ahmed Adekunle Tinubu ( GCFR C in C of the FRN ). Nothing to be write about this man again than he has been loved by many and hated by many in Nigeria this year. Some people believed he is a good man and some people believed he is evil.

2. Reno Omokri: the once beloved of the Nigerian social medias especially on Twitter has now been one of the most hated man on social medias. The man who once enjoyed the praises of a large followers right now is being booed anytime he post on Twitter.

3.Naira Marley: after the sudden death of Ilerioluwa Alobah AKA Mohbad. Naira Marley and Sam Larry were accused of killing him because before the death of Mohbad, he had accused the "jo soapy" croner of trying to kill him. True to this. There are evidences that supported the claim of assault and threat to life of the late Musician.

4. Kemi Olunloyo. The ever presence Olunloyo is an investigative journalist who is hated for being too blunt. SM users perceived her as being too insensitive to issues as with the case of Mohbad and the rest.

Winner: President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ( GCFR C in C of the FRN ). He is the most loved and most hated Man in Nigeria at the moment.

Nairaland Poo of the Year Award:
Nominees:
1. The so many Prophets who predicted that Bola Ahmed Tinubu ( then a contestant for the post of the president of Nigeria ) will not win the 2023 presidential election. Some say he won't be sworn in on that day. Some say the election will not hold on that day. So many fake prophecies that misled people then and make lots of people to question the faith they have in God.

2. Godwin Emefiele: earlier this year. The then CBN Governor of Nigeria came up with a policy that nearly crippled the activities of the nation with the Naira Scarcity then. So many people lost their lives doing this period.

3. Oladips: Oladips is a Nigerian rapper who faked his own death just to sell his album. He probably saw the love showed or showered on the late Mohbad after his death.

This category have been the most difficult to choose the winner here.
