Timoleon: No you are very wrong. A life jacket can greatly improve you chances of survival, but it's not 100% fool-proof. For instance if you are unconscious you definitely won't survive. Also if the life jacket was not properly worn you can still drown. The main purpose of the life jacket to to try to keep you afloat sue to the water pressure that might try pulling you under, while you navigate your way to safety. Why to you think even with life jackets on people still try to cling to maybe dead logs of woods floating on the river? A life jacket can improve your chance of survival by say 30% they rest is God, your comportness and your ability to swim. |

Sucre7: Two different statements, please take not. 1. You cannot DROWN in a life jacket. TRUE 2. You cannot DIE in a life jacket. FALSE. The people who died in this accident died by drowning. Over 30 people were rescued. If these people had life jackets on, they wouldn't drown and would still be alive. 1 Like |

NwaNimo1: If you do not have anything sensible to say, keep your trash to yourself. Irrespective of fuel price, there are some communities you need boat to access because they are on the island. And even the boats are powered by fossil fuel engines so what rubbish fuel crisis are u talking about? |

Seat belt is different...it comes with the car. Some of these areas can't afford a life jacket and you can't say they should just stop the boating business...so If the same govt can fix your roads and this is another mode of transportation, why can't they provide them ...original ones and then enforce its use. It will still cost less than the funds they spend in their Govs offices on feeding lol Timoleon: |
