Let me tell you something you may not have known before now. Most of those who are in politics today had at one time or the other been SPVs to presidents, governors, VPs, Ministers etc. The meaning of SPV is special purpose vehicles. They're rarely known. They do covert deals on behalf of their masters.

When the politicians appoint or announce them as ministerial nominees from their state, one begins to wonder by asking, who's he, who's she? Etc. The nominee may be young in age but don't try him/her. Don't ask why did he/she get to that level out of several much more qualified men and women among the natives of his/her state. They're mostly SPVs right from their university days to these politicians who help do covert deals including laundering money and purchase of properties abroad. You'd never trace such deals to their masters because its not purchased in their names.

That's why they don't see stealing money as a big deal when they are appointed into positions. You can imagine someone who had handled 40bn naira in the past being linked to half a billion naira theft. That's like a fraction of what he or she had laundered before. Don't be surprised whenever they say a minister or a governor's wife stole an xyz millions of dollars. Its nothing to them.

So, by the time they get into power, they appoint or nominate their SPVs whom they can trust. They abandon a common man who can do better. Most of these SPVs at one time or the other have been governors or senstors gfs while they were still single and radiating. Go to Nicon Hilton and see exotic single girls waiting to see a minister or governor.Dem plenti. Young guys too aren't left out, sent by political associates to work for politicians as SPVs. You see a young fintech guy whose name appears on forbes and you wan die? You can only wonder or ask how old are they and move on. You can never trace the origin of their funds.

Imagine diezani succeeded in all those dirty deals. That man who was her SPV would have become minister under the pdp administration one day and people would be asking, who is he? Where is he from, why him and not someone else and if he eventually steals billions of naira, people would be wondering how whereas, he had stolen even much more in the past. It won't mean anything to him.

Only us can rescue this country by ourselves but we're not ready yet. Japaing isn't the best option but a wild revolution. We're still worshipping those whom we're supposed to revolt against and send on exile cos of the way they've destroyed this country and dashed the hope of the posterity.

Most of you don't even understand what she did.
The money was not carted away, that is not how politician's steal.
Money to be stolen is obtained via bogus contracts not direct transfer.

The money was lodged in a private account to generate interests to be shared later.
This is why I see EFCC just wasting its time "investigating", there is no punishment for
lodging government money in private account, you will have to prove that the intent
was to convert such to personal use.

If it's to generate interest, then why the Accountant generate she did not aware of such?

The above is wrong and not the case. Tunji-Ojo did not award any contract to a company he has interest in unlike Peter Obi that diverted public funds to his family business. Tunji-Ojo is the Minister of Interior and the company in question won a consultancy contract advertised and implemented by Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs. There is no conflict of interest whatsoever.

Again, the company in question has been in existence doing business with various governments since 2009. Tunji-Ojo resigned as a director of the Company since 2019 and has not participated in running the company since then.

The company in question won a contract after following due process as laid down in the Public Procurement Act just like every other company that won contracts in the Ministry. If not for evil agenda, why single out only the company? Is there a law that says the company can no longer bid for and win contracts in accordance with Public Procurement Act because it was founded by a minister? Should the company stop doing business or what?

Another one of those people that can never comment without mentioning Peter Obi. Obi is living rent free in your head and heart.

I am no apologist for Betta Edu but calling her a 'fish brain' is a bridge too far, no?

Do you really think you can buy a Postgrad qualification from the London School of Tropical Medicine?

MBBCh, Medicine and Surgery, University of Calabar (2004 - 2010)
Master of Science (MSc) Public health in developing countries, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, University of London (2013 - 2014)

As for finding out about her years of active practice, you are free to take this up as your homework for the week. cool

No, there is no such burden of proof. Diversion of public funds into private accounts is by definition illegal, for the very reason you describe - it's an easy avenue for self-enrichment by skimming the earned interest. This is the same reason why Peter Obi is justifiably called a brazen criminal, because he ran the very same scheme during his years as governor, but managed to get away with it through a combination of immunity protections while in office and "tribal" solidarity once out of it (with many of the very same "kinsmen" who condemned his inaction while governor suddenly switching to singing his praises once he'd stepped down).

Betta Edu is a thief, just like Peter Obi is a thief, but unlike Obi, she can't count on millions of "kinsmen" to shield her from accountability.
