The number 2 was giving her diverted attention to the child unlike the number 1 who does not. From that perspective, it is easier to say the number 2 is the real mother.

I know some people will be looking at the matched colour clothes and pick number 1 as the mother.

It is number 1, look at the direction the child is looking. He is using one eye to look at his mum to know her reaction either to take the box or not.

The mother is 1. She's so confident of her son's behavior that she sat relaxed. She even had to share the same color of shirt with her baby. Wonderful woman
