Foreigners causing this level of damage in Nigeria and kid gloves are used on them up till now. They must be fished out together with their sponsors and punished severely. If this level of damage is caused in their country by Nigerians, they would have started another xenophobia on Nigerians. |

Nigerian authorities are always victim blaming. The level of loose talking coming from government officials has gone to astronomical heights since the coming of APC. They have CAC and they're illegal miners - isn't that the height of contradiction? And now it's the fault of the affected neighborhood? As if we don't know nothing will happen to the miners even if the neighborhood reports ? 3 Likes 1 Share |

He presented it as though the actual mining was being done in Bodija which is not true. What minureal resources is there in Bodija that they are mining. I guess they only live there and kept large quantity of explosive with them which they mostlikely are being made use of in smaller quantity at a time. In situations like this, it's good not to come out with speculations, investigation should be kept close to the chest. All this bragging about purnishing the perpetrators is like giving them the more reason to run and with our very porus borders and ineffective securities, they could as we speak be out of the country. you have to think otherwise too , forget politics and face reality . The govr has just said the truth ,but wether we accept or not is another thing . CAC registration is not a go ahead to do whatever you like certificate , Think about it . Who Ever admit he know they kept those thing there among the neighbours should be arrested and questioned . you can only help and secure who want to be secured , not careless people . ehikwe22: |

Its only a matter of time before they realise that those who owns the company are possibly connected to some politicians or their backers. Whether they will then have the resolve to see through the investigation to its logical end is left to be seen. But who knows... 1 Like |

Re: Ibadan Explosion: CAC Documents Of The Mining Firm Carry Foreign Names - Makinde by Achoghim: 8:40am On Jan 18 |
Storing the explosives with the military isn't a solution in any way, instead it creates more bureaucratic bottleneck for licensed miners. Another question is, is it the military that won't mishandle the charges? In my opinion, the executive order should mandate the storage of explosives in hardened bunkers far away from civilian population. |
Re: Ibadan Explosion: CAC Documents Of The Mining Firm Carry Foreign Names - Makinde by spiSeyi: 8:43am On Jan 18 |
ambale:Compliance is a separate thing which is why there are specialized licensing institutions for every sector, if the so-called illegal miners were licensed they would have a specialized warehouse in their quarry for storing explosive |
