Ohanaeze Seeks Meeting With Tinubu To Discuss Nnamdi Kanu’s Release by ELsmile(m): 12:07pm On Jan 19
The Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide has announced its intention to meet with President Bola Tinubu to advocate for the release of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra.

During a courtesy visit to the leadership of the Supreme Council of Nigeria Traditional Rulers, Southeast chapter, headed by President HRM Eze Iheanyichukwu Nwokenna of Abia State, at his Glass House Orji-Owerri office complex, the President of Ohanaeze, Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, revealed this plan on Saturday.

The visit to the president will focus on various issues affecting the people of the South East geopolitical zone.

Iwuanyanwu stated that the effort to secure the release of the secessionist from the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS) had become necessary due to the worsening security situation in the region.

He also addressed the fact that certain individuals are exploiting Kanu’s name and detention to commit crimes in the region, emphasizing that they are only pursuing their own selfish interests.

Your request (Supreme Council of Nigeria Traditional Rulers, South East chapter) and solidarity visit have reinvigorated my leadership intention to see President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on issues concerning the Igbo ethnic group, particularly the need to release Mazi Nnamdi Kanu of IPOB. His continuous detention is amplifying insecurity in the Southeast.

“Once he is released, any person or group instigating insecurity or crisis in Igboland using his name or detention will be held accountable.

“Some people and groups are unlawfully taking advantage of his popularity and detention to cause unnecessary trouble and problems in the entire Southeast for their own selfish interests. Peace and stability must prevail in Igboland.

“The immediate release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu will undoubtedly restore sanity,” he affirmed.

IT is risky to release Nnamdi KANU until we adopt full autonomous policing resourcing and electioneering authorities for our 36 Constitutional states.

EMEFIELE too should be detained to prevent others who might want to imitate their rebellion.

Whoever is heading BOKOHARAM should be detained and locked up also.
