Northern senators have rejected the planned relocation of some federal agencies from Abuja to Lagos. The senators also accused President Bola Tinubu of lopsidedness in the distribution and allocation of resources in the 2024 budget which they said favoured the south against the North. The senators made their feeling known on Monday in a statement issued by their spokesperson, Senator Suleiman Kawu Sumaila representing Kano South Senatorial District on the platform of the New Nigeria Political Party (NNPP).

Asiwaju may not win second tenure, he's making some huge mistakes and the gang up against him will be massive.

It is expected.

In my candid opinion, this move is a dangerous precedence.

If moving FAAN and some directorates in CBN is for efficiency. What is NNPCL and NDDC still doing in Abuja.

We can't use the south African model of having different capitals for different sectors here because we are not south Africans and our democracy is modeled after the American system which domiciles all MDAs in Washington DC.

Just like Buhari neglected federal character and had a loop sided cabinet thereby setting a precedence which Asiwaju has latched onto with the north unable to complain. We may one day see a president move the seat of power to his village and who will have the moral latitude to question his decision if we allow the present anomaly to slide.

Hope you will be ready to bet your money on this? Tinubu will rule till 2031.

FAAN has been moved to Lagos while the CBN staffs have been transfered to different branches across Nigeria.

Upon all your lies and media propaganda, President Tinubu has not spent two weeks on medical leave 8months after assuming office. I stopped taking you serious when Buhari outlived many of his evil wishers.

Let's tell ourselves the truth. Without the core north, Tinubu couldn't have won and will not win in 2027. It's as simple as that.

The current location of the FCT is the best for Nigeria. It is situated in the middle of the country which makes it accessible to all parts of the country. Taking some parastatals or Departments to Lagos for me is not right.
To get to Abuja from Maiduguri is almost the same time it will take you to get to Abuja from Lagos.

Oga rest!

What exactly is the business of the department in question in Abuja if their baisis is majorly in Lagos. Lagos State is the commercial hub of Nigeria n this is a reality not sentiment.

The north is the reason we're not moving forward because she feels every development policies can't survive if it doesn't link through her thereby making the change we crave tough to come by and this believe is wrong!

It makes a drastic changes difficult!

The department in view isn't the entire CBN, it's just a fracture of the whole body whick duty is to monitor banks and it's activities, while such department is in Abuja seating duck whilst a political decision needs to be made to relocate to where it need to play it's functional role.

Talking about Federal Airport Authority that was equally relocated from Lagos to abuja by Idi Sirika, the ex minister of aviation was a wrong decision. The north definitely have a clear agenda to turn Abuja into an economic center of the northern part of Nigeria but fail to realize that the geographical location is of different catalyst.

Lagos is a coastal area while Abuja isn't

The north should go seat down and stop behaving as if Nigeria breathe at their mercy. It should understand that government have no business in business. The fact that Abuja is the seat of government doesn't mean that everything or government agencies with zero business in Abuja should also be there too.

The north must understand that Nigeria is a commonwealth of all Nigerians and not to think itself with a special status of a master must call the shot.

I encourage president Tinubu not to panic as I know his capacity to take decisive decision at all times. He has prepared the ground for his decision before they start to happen so if the north thinks it's another Jonathan in power they better think again.

All the backlog hindering development of this country must be boot out not minding whosehorse is gore!

The disparity between the north and south in terms of development is too wide yet the north is the reason we're retogressing because it feels if it can't develop at the same pace with the south and as thus we shouldn't grow and that's what we need to unbuckle and break the shackles of barriers caused by this northern oligarchy.

CBN branch/FAAC must relocate to Lagos for the business which they were established for. The number of passengers at Lagos airport is 100 per cent more than that of Abuja who only for government functionalities unlike Lagos where majority of companies, multinationals business tycoon sits.

Nigeria is for all Nigeria and not a northern family inheritance and if they think the seat of government in Abuja exists there because the north owns it then we may as well be at ourselves loggerhead for equity as every nationality of Nigeria especially the major have equal rights.

Good afternoon!

Or the fact that the poverty is so high there

If anyone should complain, it is the people who would be relocated to Lagos

A lot of people like you said Tinubu won't get APC ticket, he got it

A lot of people like you claim he will never win the 2023 presidential election, he won it.

A lot of people like you claim he won't be sworn in, he's now ruling over Nigeria.

Tinubu is Nigeria president, he will recontest and win in 2027, and he will rule till 2031, then he will handover to a northerner.
