Aisha Achimugu is a Nigerian businesswoman and philanthropist who has made a name for herself in various sectors, such as engineering, oil and gas, and social impact. She is the founder and president of SAM Empowerment Foundation, a non-governmental organization that focuses on empowering women, youths, and children in Nigeria. She is also the wife of Engr. Sulaiman Akao Achimugu, a prominent engineer and entrepreneur.

Age

Aisha was born on 22nd January 1974 in Kuje, Abuja, Nigeria. She is the daughter of Capt. J.E. A and Mrs. Adole (Rtd.), who served in the Nigerian Army and the Nigerian Air Force respectively. She grew up in a military family and attended various schools across the country. She completed her secondary education at the
she attended Federal Government Girls Science School, Kuje, Abuja where she excelled in all her subjects. She then proceeded to the University of Jos, Plateau State, where she obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Accountancy in 1998. In 2020, she was awarded an Honorary Doctorate Degree by the Commonwealth University in recognition of her achievements and contributions to society.

Career

Ambassador Aisha Achimugu, serves as the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of FELAK CONCEPT GROUP. This esteemed group specializes in Civil, Structural, and Transportation Engineering, boasting a wealth of experience. Over time, it has expanded its offerings to include Consultancy/Transaction Advisory Services, as well as Maritime and Environmental Waste Management, catering to a diverse clientele from both the private and public sectors. The company is owned and managed by her husband, Engr. Sulaiman Akao Achimugu, who is a renowned engineer and contractor.

Achimugu is also involved in the oil and gas sector, as she is the chairperson of SAM Oil and Gas Limited, a company that engages in the exploration, production, and distribution of petroleum products. She is also a member of the Nigerian Association of Petroleum Explorationists (NAPE) and the Nigerian Gas Association (NGA).

Apart from her business endeavors, Aisha is also passionate about giving back to society. She founded SAM Empowerment Foundation in 2018 with the vision of creating a better future for women, youths, and children in Nigeria. The foundation has implemented various projects and programs that aim to improve education, health, entrepreneurship, leadership, and empowerment among its target beneficiaries. Some of the foundation's initiatives include scholarship schemes, skill acquisition trainings, mentorship sessions, health awareness campaigns, humanitarian outreaches, and advocacy events.

Family

Aisha Achimugu got married to Sulaiman Akao Achimugu, an engineer and contractor who is the co-founder and director of SAM Engineering and Construction Limited, a company that specializes in civil engineering, building construction, and project management. The couple has three children together. Her husband died in 2020 of COVID-19 complications
