Throwback:
A country battling with insecurity and widespread kidnappings, should not be allowing the use of tinted glasses in any type of vehicle.
So, I should leave my car plain? Head de pain you.

USA didn't ban tinted glass because of kidnapping.
Stop adopting stoneage solutions.

Tracking of phone is what a wise person will suggest.

USA does not ban use of tinted glasses but it is regulated. A blanket permission for use of tinted glasses is very much against conventional wisdom in a country battling with kidnapping and other security challenges.

The official laws and regulation in Nigeria prohibit use of tinted glasses without authorization. A situation where it has been allowed to be dependent on the whims and caprices of the Inspector General of Police is not the best.

The Motor Vehicles (Prohibition of Tinted Glass) Act, CAP M21 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria specifically states that except with the permission of the "appropriate authority" and for "good cause", no person shall cause any glass fitted to a vehicle to be tinted, shaded, coloured lightly or thickly, darkened or treated in any way so as to render obscure or invisible persons or objects inside the car.

It is a security risk in the country to just allow indiscriminate tinting of vehicles without any serious enforcement of the law.

In Ghana, you can only tint side windows and that must be 70% visible so you can see and be seen. In fact the DVLA is trying to outrightly prohibit use of tinted glasses in vehicles.

In India you must have at least 50% visibility in the side windows in a vehicle.

In UK the front side windows must have 70% visibility in case of any tinting.

In South Africa there must be at least 35% visibility on tinted side windows so the vehicle occupants can be seen.

In the USA there are laws also regulating the use of tinted glasses in vehicles across the various States.
