Rochas was always going to be a bad choice - be it for Imo, Katsina, Ekiti or Nigeria at large. The VP does have considerable powers under our laws. He chairs the national economic council for one. There are other constitutional responsibilities assigned to him exclusively.

Whenever people glorify Osinbajo for his 'untapped potential', I ask them about Namadi Sambo and the mood of the conversation changes immediately. Sambo is promptly described as a 'ghost worker' of a vice president...and he generally shares equal blame with GEJ for the failure of that administration. Which then leads to the next questions: how can you blame Namadi Sambo and praise Osinbajo? How can you blame Buhari and absolve Osinbajo?
