(2) Egusi Soup

Egusi is a traditional one-pot soup that combines blended melon seed, pepper, leafy vegetables, and meat. It is nutty, spicy, and tasty.

With N1000 you can prepare an egusi soup. Here is how:

N250 – Half cup of Egusi

N150 – Grounded Pepper

N200 – Palm Oil

N300 – Pumpkin leave (Ugwu)
Melon now in my area is 750 per cup

Well, as I step out to hustle for my daily bread may I return with a good bread and not cassava, garri, ewa.
Even Bible say ”…give us this day our daily bread." AND NOT …"give us this day our daily cassava, garri, ewa"
Bread na very powerful symbol for bible.

Crayfish without peppers can be nauseating, to be honest.

Hmmm, well pepper need not be absent tho, but not also in such quantity as OP put am. Uziza spices up soups too.
How can you buy pepper 150 for this kind small soup, no seasoning?

Thank you
Kingsmeal:

Well, thickener helps to hold the soup together and avoid it being watery.

There's Achi, Ofor, Ukpo.

Oha soup is a traditional Igbo soup.

Steps in making it.

Boil your meat, fish or whatever protein you want to eat it with for like 7mins with salt, Maggi and pepper.

When the protein looks soft or chewable, add your red Oil, allow to boil for like 10mins, add the thickner.

Stir it so that the thickner will dissolve in the pot well. After that, add your grinded crayfish and small pepper.

Add your sliced Uziza leave or you can add the pounded Uziza seed.

Allow to steam for like 5mins.

Then add the Oha leaf and allow to boil for like another 5mins, while checking if the salt is enough. Soup is ready.

which kind of soup the this?. No salt, onion, maggi, crefish nor fish?. How u do think it will taste.
The problem of this country is that we think we can always adjust to bad situations. Other countries are moving from bad to good while ours is the reverse and some people here think u can cook with less than a dollar.
