Honestly, I am happy for the South East and I pray this marks the beginning of production activities never witnessed before in the east...

This basically shows that the power issue in Nigeria has always been solvable, we just have irresponsible politicians & government officials who can't produce quality ideas.

Emeka Offor?

The guy is definitely not serious ... Now that he has seen competition in Geometric, he's trying to act reasonable

Where was he all these years throwing Imo state into darkness with his distribution company... One of the worst mistakes of Jonathan was selling a DC to this man

Beautiful to hear...!

What are other states waiting for?!!

If most states can resolve this power supply issue, industrialization and job creation will increase massively across the nation.

Lagos and Abuja will become decongested.

aieromon:

The plant was built under the FG-conceived National Integrated Power Project (NIPP) and commissioned in 2015. The plant is owned by the Niger Delta Power Holding Company which also manages:

Olorunsogo Power Plant, Ogun
Gbarain Power Plant, Bayelsa
Ihovbor Power Plant, Edo
Omoku Power Plant, Rivers
Egbema Power Plant, Imo
Sapele Power Plant, Delta
Omotosho Power Plant, Ondo
Calabar Power Plant, Cross River
Geregu Power Plant, Kogi (built under NIPP and sold in 2013)

Your point is invalid as the planned upgrade is a Federal Government intervention.

Is it for Abia alone or for all of Nigeria?

For Abia, whatever is remaining will given to other Southeastern states.

You're hitting the bottom line.

Hitting the bottom line is what the President would have done before removing the Fuel subsidy which the top line.

Emeka Offor didn't do anything. Leave that man alone. He runs a disco. Discos only buy power from genco and sell to consumers. The issue between Geometric and Emeka Offor was caused by the BPE and NERC.

The era of sharing kerosene as palliatives and dividends of Democracy is gone forever in Abia. I pray other states emulate this man. All we need from our leaders is an enabling environment to make business grow. Labour party, always leading by example. There are several moribund infrastructure in many states but their governors simply concentrate on whatever they can steal while in office.

Kogi shall be free someday..that's another african tourist destination

Nigeria govt borrowed money to build infrastructures, then sell it to individual that charges the masses enormously to use it. The masses at the same time pay the enormous charges and still pay back the loans, While the proceed of the sale is then mismanaged by governments officials .

Not a time for a west-east war. Every place is accommodating. We are first Nigerians before Easterners or westerners.

It is time for me to develop all my land in Aba.
Soon, Aba will be a town of choice and rent will be superb.

Being a landlord in Aba would be a lucrative business then!

This is good investment in his region...

The government should invest more human capital, renovate dead industries and build more industries for the state.

The processing and manufacturing industries will go a long run for the state and entire southeastern region.

Small scale industries will now relay on the electricity to increase productivity and good service.

Unemployment saga will be reduced.

We should be able to compete with China, Japan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Ukraine and other foreign countries.

Same way other areas accommodate people from the west. Nothing is free even in Freetown. The accommodation you are talking about are purchased with money and not free.

Alaoji, Egbema, Ihovbor, Gbaran were all NIPP projects instituted by Baba Shege. Sapele has only two turbines out of six operational.

Chrome Group abi EEDC only supervised maintenance they are not Gencos! Everything is not about propaganda, there are people with first hand knowledge in this forum. My only prayer is that Alaoji starts operating at full capacity because it has been operational all these years.

Why are you like this? Why the severe pain and heartache about good things in igboland?

must you lie about anything concerning south east?
