Actually, DSP Alams escaped from UK to Nigeria, though not from prison not in any form of house arrest as like this scenario. Alams jumped bail to Nigeria just like Nnamdi Kanu before he was "kidnapped" back to Nigeria.

The story is true, Alameseigha escaped from British police custody while rumoured to be disguised as a woman
Alams wasn't in police custody before he escaped from UK but rather on bail with his passport seized.

Where did you get your own information that he was on bail?

He was on house arrest (same as the escaped Binance executive), guarded by British policemen.
That's not true.
He was on bail not detention

APC government is trying to save face by orchestrating the escape of the Binance executive, I expect the 2nd to be released on bail soon as there is no locus standi for the.to be detained on account of tradings (appropriate or inappropriate) by Nigerians who took advantage of the Central Bank's weaknesses and the Nigerian Naira's volatility undecided undecided undecided undecided undecided undecided

According to Nigeria's agbado regime, Binance are the reason why Naira became worthless. grin grin grin

Surely one of the reasons.....why was it when govt slammed the hammer on binance that the dollar started the turn around.

Every right thinking person and patriotic Nigerian who had sleepless nights over the plummeting naira value will know that the high dollar values were artificial and did not reflect the real economy of the country.....we kept asking who were the people buying the dollar at those outrageous figures, definitely not the average man on the street but speculators who used platforms like binance to continue to dump the naira and storing dollars to the detriment of the economy

People like you and your kind are the reason the world is in a big mess today and there seems to be no hope for humanity because you reason with your anus instead of your brain. You are naturally and incurably dishonest and ever unwilling to face facts unless it suits your sentiments or narrative.

Oga, Alamesiya was arrested in the UK and he escaped by disguising as a woman. This was widely reported in all social media platforms; All online and physical newspapers carried the news. What point are you trying to make.

I suspect you were not even born then and it's possible you don't even know who we are talking about but was just arguing blindly.

You can read about it via the link below:

Corruption Charges

United Kingdom

Diepreye Alamieyeseigha was detained in London on charges of money laundering in September 2005. At the time of his arrest, Metropolitan police found about £1m in cash in his London home. Later they found a total of £1.8m ($3.2m) in cash and bank accounts.[5] He was found to own four homes in London[6] worth an alleged £10 million.[7] His state's monthly federal allocation for the last six years has been in the order of £32 million.[8] He jumped bail in December 2005 from the United Kingdom by allegedly disguising himself as a woman, though Alamieyeseigha denies this claim.[9] Alamieyeseigha was impeached on allegations of corruption on 9 December 2005.[3]

Hope you read what you attached in your rejoinder:
"He was detained in London...."

Moreover, I read all the details of his arrest and eventual escape deeply at the very time everything unfolded. So, I am well informed of all the episodes.

All this paid write-up to exonerate the FG of this monumental global embrassment...
Knee jerk approach to issues..
Soon they'll tell u the arrest of Binance executives led to Naira appreciating against the dollar .not knowing billions are currently used to defend the Naira as we speak.
The Guy escaped? Or was discreetly released..
You want I tell me someone escaped from NSA clutches, bought a ticket with his name, took a trip to Abuja international airport, passed through hordes of Customs and Immigration and was able to board a flight out..are we a joke in this country ? Is everything comedy? There's something fundamentally wrong with this country..
Now you "arrested" the hapless security operative on duty.. obviously the case the will swept under the carpet and the officer posted to another state..
Let's not deceive ourselves..the main reason for all this money..tax evasion my arse.

Binance and United States

In 2019, Binance was banned in the United States on regulatory grounds. In response, Binance and other investors opened Binance.US, a separate exchange designed to comply with all applicable US federal laws, which nonetheless is banned in six states: Hawaii, Idaho, Louisiana, New York, Texas, and Vermont.[87] In May 2021, Bloomberg News reported that Binance was under investigation by the United States Department of Justice and Internal Revenue Service for money laundering and tax evasion.[88] In June 2022, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission launched an enquiry into Binance to determine if the company's 2017 ICO of BNB tokens amounted to an illegal sale of a security.[89] In December 2022, Binance's American entity Binance.US announced that it would acquire Voyager Digital's assets in a $1.02 billion deal. This deal was called off in April 2023 due to what Binance.US called a "hostile and uncertain regulatory climate."[90]

In February 2023, Reuters reported that over the first three months of 2021, Binance transferred over $404 million from a Binance.US account at Silvergate Bank to Merit Peak Ltd., a company managed by Zhao. Catherine Coley, then-CEO of Binance US, was quoted in messages to another Binance executive saying that "no one mentioned" the "unexpected" transfers. Coley left Binance.US shortly thereafter. Reuters said the transfers called into question the purported independence of Binance.US from Binance.com. A Binance.US spokesperson said the Reuters report used "outdated information" without further elaboration.[91]

On 1 March 2023, US Senators Elizabeth Warren, Chris Van Hollen, and Roger Marshall wrote a letter to Binance describing the exchange as "a hotbed of illegal financial activity that has facilitated over $10 billion in payments to criminals and sanctions evaders." The letter formally requested documents related to Binance's compliance with regulations.[92][93] On 27 March 2023, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) filed a lawsuit against Binance and Zhao in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, claiming willful evasion of US law and allegedly breaching derivatives rules.[94][95] The agency accused Binance of breaking rules intended to thwart money laundering operations,[96] pointing to internal communications describing transactions by Palestinian militant organization Hamas, and suspected criminals, with the company's money laundering reporting officer allegedly remarking "we see the bad, but we close 2 eyes".[94] In April 2023, three unidentified trading firms cited as "VIP" clients of Binance were revealed to be Radix Trading, Jane Street Capital and Tower Research Capital.[97]

In June 2023, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) said it was suing Binance and Zhao on 13 charges for alleged violations of US securities rules.[98][99]

On September 12, 2023, Binance.US announced the resignation of CEO Brian Shroder and a reduction of the exchange’s workforce by around 100 positions, roughly one-third of its total staff. Binance.US cited the SEC’s civil suit as “an unfortunate example” of the agency’s “aggressive attempts to cripple our industry.”[100]

In October 2023, coinciding with the outbreak of the 2023 Israel–Hamas war, Binance and Tether were described as a source of terrorist funding by US senator Cynthia Lummis and US Representative French Hill, with a letter calling for the Department of Justice to crack down on the exchange.[101][102]

In November 2023, Binance agreed to plea guilty and pay a $4.3 billion fine. Zhao agreed to pay a $50 million fine and step down as CEO of the company, but was allowed to maintain his ownership as part of the deal.[103][104]
