Dear All please how much is catalyst for honda 2011.

I got a car for someone only to be told the front catalyst has been removed and the one in the silencer has been changed.

The car has the check engine light on, is not reveing when on motion.

The absence of catalytic converter is not the root cause of this.

Thank you Sir. It has been scanned it's reading Catalyst sensor.

The mechanic suggests we replace the catalyst before getting a new sensor

You will be spending close to ₦200k to get the two catalyst of that car.

For the problem you described, even though it is not clear enough, it has nothing to do with catalyst efficiency or function..but if it is suspected that the catalyst is blocked then this is totally reasonable. Even at that, there's a way to verify before going ahead to dash part sellers money.

State the problem clearly, the gurus on this platform might help point you in the right direction.

The check engine light is on, a spanner light is also on. Scanned the car today and was told the catalyst sensor code came up. The rewire advice we check the catalyst first and he said it's been worked on and the one in front is missing.

Car while in motion would not rev, would have to park and start again also black smoke seen on number after a 2hour trip today. Attached is the picture of the catalyst I was advised to change.

This particular one will cost between 50-80k to replace depending on location and your mechanic's greed.

That said, a failed catalyst will not cause the symptoms you are currently complaining about. If the codes you are getting are p0141/p0420 and so on, your car will only consume more fuel than normal but the engine won't behave the way yours is doing.

Had the mecho confirmed that there's no restriction is the exhaust channel?
